Palin endorses Ron Paul's position on international militarism
Digital Journal ^ | October 22, 2011 | Michael Krebs

Posted on 10/22/2011 5:09:11 PM PDT by Captain Kirk

“You’ve got to give it to Ron Paul," Palin said. "Whether you agree with everything he says or not, at least he is one there in Congress trying to make our President stick to the law and understand that Congress does have a role to play in these foreign policy decisions that are made and Ron Paul, I think hit the nail on the head, when he came out and said Obama had better be careful when he interjects himself and our country in other nations’ business.”

I never listened to what RP had to say - and never thought of voting for him. I did listen to the last debate and he did say a few things I liked - so I’m happy to hear Sean invited him on.

Guess what Chong, YOU do not get to decide what Sarah is or does - she does. And when she speaks, you will listen and the reason I know that is - here you are on a Palin thread.

Now you go ‘cheer’ somewhere else - when we want media propaganda - we know where to find you.

LOL Palin is not only dancing for the stars - she’d rather be one than finish her term as governor. She’s a woman who has a nice message but no guts. So, she doesn’t get any glory. It was her choice no matter what she says. She’s a quitter.

Sarah appears to agree with Ron Paul on this narrow issue, but no one should state or imply that she agrees with Ron Paul on all or even most foreign relations issues.

Few people do. I'm sorry to see her name linked to his: that opens her up to "bracketing" with Paul's isolationism.

Paul's idea of "listening" to jihadists is misplaced. In the first place, their mouths are their primary weapon, and they are reflexive liars.

Their real reason for attacking us is that they're all stoked on Qutb and other Salafists, and they hate us because we are successful and we are infidels. Period.

1) When has Paul ever voted for any legislation related to our military?

2) The jihadists were LYING when they told us why they attacked us. They attacked us because it’s the next step toward their goal of world domination. Do you really not see that?

Yep.

That part about cutting Israel loose and muzzie terror being caused by our actions is ludicrous.

In one way, it could be our fault. Wilsonian self determination combined with our stupid energy policies sending them money IS part of the problem.

Islam has been at war with everyone for 1400 years. We put crescent moons on outhouse doors for reasons besides they look good.

Choosing to ignore history is stupid, whether due to PC or lack of teaching it in our schools. Google Charles Martel and the croissant for more info.

I haven’t even heard Rand approach the subject.

I doubt Sarah Palin with throw Israel under the bus like Ron Paul would. Would she withdraw all our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan? I doubt it.

Yes certain things I disagree with, but on the overwhelming amount of issues, he is light years better than the others.

"sarcasm off for the intellectually challenged,"

Thanks for the note. I thought you anti-Paul people hung your anti-Paulism on that one quote, in spite of the fact that Dr. Paul has said much, much more on foreign policy than simply that one line.

In fact, his book: "A Foreign Policy of Freedom" outlines how our concept of freedom includes freedom from needless war in foreign lands for no particular reason other than to further the goals of the United Nations.

I don't expect you to actually read the book, nor even to consider the premise, however I would like to see more open-mindedness.

9/11 truther for Congress

Presidential Debate Carl Cameron: "...Many of your supporters are call themselves 9/11 Truthers...Sir, would you ask them to cease their [9/11 inside job] rhetoric on your behalf?

Paul: "Well, it doesn't do me any good, so if they care about me they should [cease it]."

John Gibson Show on Fox News Radio September 14, 2007: John Gibson: "You have associated yourself in some ways with these people that they call 9/11 Truthers, who think that the U.S. government was in on the 9/11 attacks. Do you also believe that's true?"

Paul: "No. And I wouldn't say I associate with them; they associate with me. But there's no way a candidate can control every thought process of everybody who supports him..."

Gibson: "But you go on Alex Jones' show...Will you say right here and now that you completely disavow the 9/11 truth movement and the whole idea that the U.S. government was on in the 9/11 attack?"

Paul: "Yes I do..."

Interview with Julie Banderas on Fox News August 5, 2007: Julie Banderas: "Do you believe that the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center was an inside job?"

Paul: "Well, the answer is no if they mean by 'inside job' that our government made it happen. No, I don't believe that."

Interview with Mike Gallagher July 19, 2007: Mike Gallagher: "Is it fair to say that you believe that there was some kind of either government conspiracy or cover-up involving September 11th, 2001"

Ron Paul: "No, not really. I never bring that up. Some people try to twist what I say and turn it into that. And I think some of my supporters lean in that direction, but that's not my position. I do think government's basically inept.

Interview with Shawn Wasson LiveLeak.com July 24,2007:

Wasson: "Your position then would be that as far as you're concerned, the official story from 9/11 - and this is not about the government covering up their mistakes. This is about the suggestions from these people...that 9/11 was orchestrated by the government, you do not support that theory?"

Paul: "Absolutely not!"

Interview with Adam Curry on Daily Source Code October 24, 2007:

Adam Curry: "9/11 Conspiracy theories. Do you buy any of it Dr. Ron?"

Paul: "Not, not really. Not the kind that say well it was all conspired by our government and they did it for this purpose of us ushering in this War on Terrorism. No I don't believe any of that.

Interview with Glenn Beck, December 18, 2007: Glenn Beck: "I have watched the interviews with you. You don't leave any room for any doubt on a 9/11 conspiracy, but I'd just like to make it clear and ask you - and I don't believe these need explanation unless I've read your answers wrong elsewhere - but, may I just run through these 9/11 conspiracies?: No plane hit the Pentagon on September 11th; instead, it was a missile fired by elements from inside the American state apparatus. Yes or no?"

Paul: "No. It's preposterous."

Beck: "The planes that hit the World Trade Center towers were remotely controlled."

Paul: "[Shaking his head no and shugging his shoulders] I mean this is just bizarre. I've not even heard these challenges before."

Beck: "O.K. I understand that. I don't mean to - sir, these are the people that - some of these people speak in your name and they actually say that you will be on this program tonight and you will answer the way you are answering now because you can't let on. They believe that you are part..of another kind of conspiracy to expose the conspiracy of 9/11 and the World Trade Center. Can you - I mean you you'd - I don't know how you address people who are so deeply into conspiracy but can you?

Paul: "I, I don't know what I would be - supposed to be doing. Uh, no. I mean I don't think there's any evidence.."

Beck: "Is there any evidence or is there any doubt in your mind that the United States government was not involved in the September 11th attacks - that we did not bring down World Trade Center number seven?"

Paul: "...I absolutely believe that is true - they did not. <...> No, I don't believe that at all. I think it - I don't think I should even have to answer questions like that [laugh]."

Beck: "Yes sir. I do not believe that this is your point of view, and I don't believe that this is the point of view of most of your supporters - the vast, vast majority [of your supporters]."

Interview with Michael Medved on the Michaeld Medved Show. August 28, 2007:

Michael Medved: "Do you have any doubt, Congressman Ron Paul, that the horrors of 9/11 were perpetrated by 19 Arab young men working as agents of international terror in the form of Al-Qaida?"

Paul: "No. I don't know of anybody that really questions that in a serious manner...To say that it was something somebody other than the Al-Qaida - and I don't hear too many people saying that - but I'm sure there are people saying things like that and that there's some type of conspiracy - but I think it's pretty hard to refute airplanes plowing into a building. [chuckle]"

So, in summary, I think you are misinformed about Paul's position on the subject.

Ditto. And once the troops are pulled out of Iraq (or Afghanistan) no way in hell should they or air power go back.

I have never protested a war, but will if any politician tries to send troops back in.

McCain the fool, is now trying to get the US militarily involved in Syria.

You have to be one of the top ten in ignorance and negativity (especially toward strong conservative Women) on this website.

You have done crap in your life (or you would not be hiding here), and are jealous of a Woman who has accomplished so much on guts and bravery that you will never ever achieve if your lifetime spanned 400 years.

I think of you as cro-Magnon man,or creep, someone who hates it when a Conservative woman does well, and makes a difference and is still loved.

SP will make a bigger difference in 2012 than in 2010, and that will make you even more jealous and angry. I believe you are so tainted with hate that you would watch either her or women like her be assaulted or worse and not lift a finger to help. What a slug!

“That’s why I am not an authoritarian, except in cases where someone is committing an actual crime of force or fraud, infringing directly on the rights of another. I’ll never believe in imprisoning someone merely for possessing the wrong plant, or negotiating a voluntary service contract which I disapprove of.”

That is why libertarians ARE NOT conservative. Also, you prove my point. To be anti-authoritarian is to be an anarchist. Thus, your libertarian views promote anarchy, which is the anathema of an orderly society. It is perverting “liberty” into being “libertine.”

That chart is full of misrepresentations. Also, Paul is not a “right-wing” nutjob....is is an all over the spectrum nutjob. He is NOT a conservative of any stripe.

Actually, it is a moot discussion. There no way Paul can win the GOP nomination...and there is no way he could beat Obama even if he pulled off this impossible task of winning the primary. He just isn’t worth taking notice of by any person possessing a brain that isn’t an anarchist, anti-authority, anti-war, ....etc. He isn’t a true Republican...no I don’t mean a RINO. RINOs are democrats that call themselves Republican. Paul is a fringe element Libertarian that calls himself a Republican.

” I thought you anti-Paul people”

Is “anti-Paul people” a new code word for “JOOS”?

A vote for Paul is a vote for anarchy, for isolationism, FOR FREE DRUGS, MORE OPEN BORDERS, MORE GAY MARRIAGE, AND ITS A VOTE FOR OBAMA.

“In fact, his book: “A Foreign Policy of Freedom” outlines how our concept of freedom includes freedom from needless war in foreign lands for no particular reason other than to further the goals of the United Nations.’

ooooh, “freedom from endless wars....” You want to end “endless wars? GROW A PAIR AND DEMAND OUR CONGRESS AUTHORIZE WAR AND CARPET BOMB OUR ENEMIES.

And F*CK the UN. I wouldn’t GIVE TWO CR*PS if the UN SLID INTO THE EAST RIVER.

Can you FEEL ME NOW?

Any JACKASS LIKE RON PAUL who is PRETENDING TO BE A CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN who goes on IRANIAN TV and bad-mouths AMERICA can KILL HIMSELF for all I care.

RON PAUL is a JACKASS who endorsed ADAM KOKESH, a SCUM-SUCKING pig who marched with Code Pink, and who stood outside a U.S. Army base and publicly called for U.S. troops to desert their posts.

DO YOU SUPPORT DESERTION? DO YOU SUPPORT CODE PINK? DO YHOU SUPPORT IRAN GETTING NUKES?

Why are YOU supporting a candidate WHO SUPPORTS THOSE POSITIONS?

Your support of RP WILL ENSURE OBAMA’S RE-ELECTION.

“I don’t expect you to actually read the book, nor even to consider the premise, however I would like to see more open-mindedness.”

You’re so “open-minded” you’re at risk of having your brains fall out.

PUT DOWN THE BONG.

I wrote:
“To be anti-authoritarian is to be an anarchist.”

You answered:

“That’s a ludicrous assertion.”

Not actually. Law is a recognized form of authority. In order for law to be carried out it requires those that enforce it. Law and its enforcement is authority. To resist “authority” is to resist “law.” That is the very nature of anarchy is to desire no authority....thus no law.

Look, I understand your dislike for authority...I would be untruthful if I said I liked it either. None of us like being “told” what to do or when to do it. Especially when it runs afoul of what we want to do at a particular time. However, overall with my military background I understand the necessity for authority and that it be respected. The only thing I get upset about is those that “abuse” authority or exceed what has been lawfully - by those governed - granted to them.

We all must live together in a way to avoid conflict. This requires law and agents of teh government to enforce that law. To be openly “anti-authoritian” is to oppose the very thing that makes it possible for us to live together peacefully. We all must, to some extent, subordinate ourselves to authority...we cannot be that authority. Otherwise we are promoting anarchy where, “everyone does what is right in his own eyes.”

An ideal society, especially our own republic, was established during a time when people naturally, for the most part, were moral and submitted themselves to authority...as long as it didn’t trample fundamental rights.

I’ve turned on Ron Paul so I am not interested in him. When I read End The fed and Meltdown by Thomas E. Woods I thought they were right on. But after studying Ron Paul, his merry band of idots, Alex Jones, Jesse Ventura, Mike Rivero, Rick Adams, the luntaic fringe that is supporting Ron Paul, 9-11 Truthers, Anti-Semitic people supporting Ron and so on. I want to distance myself from these goofs.

They want to have their cake and eat it too. Supporters claim Ron Paul created the tea Party, but the lunatic fringe is joining Occupy Wall Street. So they are parasites going from movement to movement and trying to infiltrate them and co-opt.

So I might agree with some of Paul’s positions but the guy is a joke with no chance to win.

If you are arguing that won't support him because some crazy folks support him, I hope you are at least consistent! Are you? To be consisetnet, you'd have to rule out every other candidate. At least none of his supporters support killing women and children on the battlefield or destroy thousands of lives via the war on drugs.

Spoken like a yutz who undoubtedly has three left feet and dances like a blind pregnant water buffalo.

For your info, many Pro football Players, and other wonderful athletes have competed on the Show, and have done great. Last Season Hines Ward the great Pittsburgh Steeler won, and deserved the Mirror Ball Trophy. He was fantastic, and Jason Taylor came in second place when he competed. Many outstanding performances by Athletes, and Celebrities that were somewhat Klutzy on day one, went on to ace their performances. With very hard work, following their trainer's instructions, and the desire to succeed and rise above the fear and anxiety to achieve their goals, they transformed every week. It is a very Conservative to be successful after sacrifice and hard work.

This season another wonderful person is a fan favorite, he goes by the name of “JR”,and was a real Hero.He was in the Military and was wounded in Iraq, hit by a roadside bomb that trapped him inside his burning Tank, before he was rescued he had maiming burns over 40 percent of his body with his skin melting off. He had three years of Rehab including at least 32 surgeries. Look up his story, and how he wanted to die 8 years ago, and look where he is now. It is a shame your idea of manliness has colored your judgment to what a real man is,and how Dancing is hard and athletic.

You can do whatever you want, sadly you do not know now or probably will never know what you are missing.
