While other candidates were speaking at coffeehouses and diners on the day before the Iowa caucuses, Ron Paul was greeted by a crowd of 500 and scores of national media who packed a downtown hotel ballroom for a morning event.
This is almost like a real rally, the Republican presidential hopeful exclaimed. This is great!
Polls show Paul in a position to pull off an upset victory in the caucuses Tuesday night, an accomplishment that, if it happens, would amount to one extremely sharp stick in the eye of the GOP establishment.
The turnout had Pauls supporters crowing.
For somebody that doesnt have a chance, this is some crowd, said Monte Goodyk of Sully, Iowa. This is the beginning of the second revolution.
Paul was introduced by his son, Rand Paul, the U.S. senator from Kentucky.
Theres energy. Its overflowing. And its coming tomorrow, Rand Paul told the crowd. Were going to win in Iowa tomorrow.

Ron, I am in Bed with George Soros, Paul gets plenty of attention suddenly...
Please pay no attention to the man behind the (Iron) curtain.

Was he clapping his little hands together? The Kucinich stealth voters must be laughing their asses off.

Why are they crowing, it means nothing.
You all do realize that there are over three million people living in Iowa, right? 500 is hardly a huge crowd.
“Today Iowa, tomorrow Israel!”
-Ron Paul’s new slogan
You forgot the endorsement of David Duke and Code Pink.
So, when all the same day registrants, liberal activists and bused in college students upset a few caucuses will it really matter?
Either Ron Paul wins, or conspiracy theorists will twist and turn the final results to a Ron Paul win. In either case, Ron Paul wins.
Obviously FR is not RP friendly, for whatever reason, but like Palin said, if he’s the nominee I’ll vote for him.
That’s more than can be said for mittens.
I am just hitting 50 years of age and receiving AARP minutia in the mail, which gives me the right to blame all forgetfulness on a shrinking brain.
Thanks for pointing that out, ah, ah, ah....svcw. :)
I wonder how many Bradley Manning supporters were bussed in for the morning event.
And destroy our military putting our country at risk.
FURP!!
If you think anti-Semitic Ron Paul, who did an interview with Iranian TV, sympathizes with them over sanctions, and says they would be justified in closing the Strait of Hormuz AND having a nuclear weapon is anything but a lunatic, then I would suggest some very careful self-examination.
That should answer the sarcasm question for you.
About 500 supporters, BIG DEAL. Bachmann had 9 people at her last rally.
GEAUX BUDDY ROEMER. He’s a cinderfella story.
Occupy parasites and out of state leftist interlopers are most of Ron Paul’s support in Iowa
This like so cool.
Everyone is like voting for like the old dude who wrote the Constitution and stuff...
So we will have free pot and discount Twinkies!
RON...
Uh...
Like dude, what is his nam...
Wait dude...
Hey are going to eat those Nachos?

Gee
Do you think it may be the following
9-11 truther thing
Racist newsletter
Calling the troops - war criminals
Trashing Reagan
Supporting Iran and its bomb program
Jew-israel hating
Code Pink supporter thing
And Lots more
>> 2008 results: &etc Meaningless....
Heh. Good point.
Ron Paul always mentions the military first when cutting the size of our government. Either you are a total dupe, or you are purposely avoiding mention of this to further the ruse that Ron Paul's voice deserves to be heard here on FR. What the hell has Ron Paul done the entire time he has served in Congress, which he first ran on a "term limit" platform? He is as hypocritical as he is a kook. His supporters are openly asking for support from democrats now.
I vote for a fast and swift zotting for all Ron Paul cultists.
Good for Ron Paul. I am sure the milk-toast, big-government, what would Jesus drive Republicans will ultimately win... But, some people are getting wise.
>> If you think anti-Semitic Ron Paul... is anything but a lunatic, then I would suggest some very careful self-examination.
While we’re on the subject of self examination: did you know that Ron Paul supporters can give themselves a free colonoscopy merely by opening their eyes? :-)
You forgot the big one.
GOP hates the thought of a libertarian.
He's that old dude on those posters where we get our bong supplies
Seriously, the "Planet K" head shop here in North Austin is right next to the highway and you can see Ron Paul campaign signs all over it.
500? Is there really a Klavern that large in Iowa?
Paul is no libertarian .
He is crazy fraud who hates the US military , Jews . 9-11 victims who he blames , and any other race he trashed in his newsletter !
He is an embarrassment to this country .
Now that's funny, I'd bet some of his supporters even laughed. ROFL!!
Question:
Why do self described libertarians support Ron Paul?
Answer: They are participants of a cult, not an ideology.
Does that explain the Paul for President posters I've been seeing?
oh noes, anybody but Ron Paul.
And note that when Paul had a staff of twelve putting out his $1 million/year newsletter, the key staffers didn't call themselves Libertarians. They were 'paleoLibertarians.' That mean Libertarian without the pot smokers, but adding the neo-Nazis, the KKK, the conspiracy theorists, the militia, the racists, the anti-Semites, the One World Order-ers, and other delightful segments that Paul's staff felt just weren't getting an adequate say in the Libertarian party.
You mean Dr Paul is a switch-hitter?
To a T. That pic is worth many words. :-)
Is the Paultard on the left in that pic wearing a loincloth!?
Then why do so many in the military support RP?
Did Chuck Norris endorse Ron Paul? Thought he would go for Perry or Newt.
You must love spam. You eat it up.
I know paulistas and the LSM say that. I know many Vets and some active and not a one supports the turkey.
The only difference between RP and BHO is the letter behind their names/so-called party affiliations.
I had the choice of a boring Sugar Bowl or Photoshop. I chose Photoshop.
If Ron Paul were the nominee, I’d do the same thing I did last time: Vote for every race except President.
Two answers: (a) "So many" isn't frequently used as a synonym for "a paltry few'' and (b) Veterans and Military Families for Obama has been losing members, as I understand it. I wonder where they've been going?
Well here is a fact check as of July 2011
That is exactly what I’ll do if it’s mittens or the newt.
