I've heard what my dad and his family and my mom and her family went through. My In-laws told me a little about what it was like in the States. Not a whoile lot of good times anywhere in the world in the 30's and early 40's.

I bet. And then some. I think no matter where our folks lived during those times, Poland, Germany, America...they all had it worse than our generation and hopefully we learned from them.

West Virginia, eh? My Dad's family came from north of Paris, Pennsylvania, located at PA's south western corner with West Virginia both to the west and south within a very few miles. Still heavy duty boondocks.
