I thought I would give a heads up to fellow vets who served in Thailand from 1967..forward After years of fighting, the VA finally relinquished and admitted that AO was used on bases throughout Thailand. IF YOU HAVEN'T FILE YOUR CLAIMS...get on it..the new deadline is THIS AUGUST 30th,2011. Check the VA site for details....file that claim that has been denied to you NOW!!

I know I will catch some heat for this, but this is more tax dollars I have to pay for something that was before I was even born. I am sick of paying the promised and accumulated obligations of those that came before me.

We owe our vets for making them fight a war we had no intention of even trying to win.

If VA had taken care of us in a timeley way the costs would have been much less. If a person stepped foot in Viet Nam he is assumed to contacted Agent Orange and is eligible for full benifits. If Monsano had not pushed the chemical process for 2-4-5-t they would not have sold tons of dioxin to the Army as agent orange. I am Medical payments are peanuts as to what we must pay out to LIBERALS!

You make use of alot of infrastructure paid for by those that came before you.

Veterans benefits are NOT the issue to piss and whine about if you wish to be seen as anything but a petulant parasite.

He served in thailand, and has been denied in the past, even though he knows AO was used in and around his base...was there a change in rules in regards to thailand?

I suggest you recall why you are alive and free today. Its because of the soldier. We must first and foremost take care of them.
I have a friend who’s dad had all sorts of health problems. He was SF in Vietnam and had crap dumped on him a couple of times. The government refused to admit doing it, and his Dad died in misery with little to no help. The government owes honesty and money to Veterans before anything else.

Thank yo so much! Dad served at Nakhon Phanom, right across the river from where considerable spraying was done. If the winds were right, and they often were, the AO would cover his base. It was also used for the kill zone around the perimeter of the base.

You make my point for me. I am tired of having to pay for the obligations of political decisions made before I was even born.

I once wrote of my experiences with Agent Orange in Vietnam, and if you’re interested the subject, you can read about it at:

I was a US Air Force Combat Security Police Military Dog Handler at Korat, Royal Thai Air Force Base from December 71 to December 72. I spent 319 out of 365 nights walking the base perimeter and base interior on the K9 posts. Nothing grew on the perimeter of the base, and many times when new growth appeared within days, it would be brown and crumbly. It is proven that a variant of Agent Orange was sprayed on the perimeter of all Air Force bases in not only Vietnam, but also Thailand, and as a K9 handler, we walked in the dust of this agent for anywhere between 6 and 12 hours a night when we were on post. This dust got all over us, in our food, and drink. When it rained, the agents in the ground turned into mud, and we got it all over us, plus it soaked into our boots, socks, all over our cammies, and also soaked into the water table of the land, and into the water we drank, in our food, and that we showered with.

I have type II Diabetes, and my claim has been in for over two years with the VA, and is still being investigated. We need all vets to come together and support us. And for those of you that don’t believe this, or don’t support us or our claims for this, either you were never there, and/or don’t have a clue what you are talking about.

K9 forever
