TURNOUT MATTERS! Dems in Dade County are already voting...

YAHOO NEWS CAPTION: Residents of Dade County cast ballots in Miami. Democratic campaigners are targeting Florida's black community, hoping to channel their anger over the 2000 electoral fiasco into a resolve to defeat President George W. Bush.(AFP/Roberto Schimidt)

Don't know about you, but my nerves are jangling out of control. I never cared more deeply about the outcome of a presidential election as I do this one.

CNBC has been broadcasting little shorts of Kerry's and Bush's stump speeches at these rallies. Bush looks upbeat and energized with loud supporting crowds. Kerry looks like a zombie, sounds like he's just mouthing words and hardly knows what he is saying, subdued cheers (crowds are not shown).
My take at this hour.
To: KrazyEyezKillah
Volunteer at your local phone bank at get out the vote.Good advice, except that I've been volunteering down at my local Bush-Cheney/GOP HQ since mid-August. I care too much about this election, so can't help an attack of nerves.

Project confidence. W. will win. Most americans expect that he'll win. I think all this bluster from Kerry team that he is up in OH and FL is to try to stave off the Bush inevitability perception. They know that if most people believe (by these kind of margins 59-30) that Bush is going to win a week from now that the Kerry support will crater with many casting the ballot for Nader or simply not showing up.

According to the polls that are showing 18% of blacks supporting Bush, that means that one of these folks is not going to be voting like the others.

(crowds are not shown). I find that very telling. I've been paying close attention to this for the last month and, curiously, Kerry's crowd are always shown close-up. Why don't reporters ever relay that information? I suspect it's not good news for Kerry.

Don't assume that an African-American will necessarily be a Democrat. Just look at the new poll today that says Bush has double his support in the black community to 18%. Still low, to be sure, but not nothing.
