Good evening fellow Drudgaholics! This week...
- Our long national nightmare ended with a verdict in the Scott Peterson trial. Now there's nothing left but to figure out who'll play Gloria Allred in the TV movie.
- CBS axed a producer for daring to cut into CSI with actual news that Arafat was finally dead, but the same cannot be said for the one which presented fake news to Danno.
- "America's trade deficit is soaring and the once high-flying dollar has sunk to record lows against Europe's common currency. But the Bush administration has reacted with remarkable calm to developments that raise worries about a possible dollar crisis." [AP]
- Star Jones (AKA Bridezilla) finally got married
- Blair defies critics to stand by US alliance...
- "Can the new Band Aid beat £110m for Africa?" This must be the worst story of the year. The first one was bad enough...this is total, shameless elitism now. "Do they know it's Christmas?" Probably not. By and large, they're not Christians.
- And if one more idiot tells me I don't know music if I'm not listening to Joss Stone, I'm gonna slap 'em.
- I saw the CMA awards. Country's kind of like hip-hop. They even both have bling.
- Is Ashlee Taking Too Much Heat? -- check out the bottom. Whitney Houston's famous National Anthem performance was pre-recorded? I never knew that.
- Dick Clark's American Music Awards are underway. How many different tributes to ODB will be forthcoming...
- The CBS Category 6 movie! Decisions, decisions
But, what do I know. Comment on what
you hear here!

That makes no sense. How much are they planning to charge for drugs if they are going to chip the bottle?

Can there be anybody more ghetto than Star Jones with all the tacky ads?
SNL even did a bit about her husbands homosexuality.
They had a man playing Star Jones, the scary thing was he was prettier than her... LOL

These chips would not broadcast then and would be scanned instead.
So, who's planning on scanning America's prescribed medications?

Hi LAINIE, it's great Arafat is dead. I would have suggested they put a stake through the heart, then burn him to make sure he stays dead.
I don't like all these sources harping about the death of a GREAT MAN...
This was a major terrorist just like Bin Laden. So when we hear people cheering Arafat, it is as disgusting to me as people cheering Bin Laden.

Arafat was no hero. He didn't even operate with his own peoples' best interests at heart, much less the outsiders.

Total bullsh1t and bad form on the Presbyterian Church's part.

Many here in CA save money by taking their prescription bottle south of the border and filling 3 months worth then coming back.
Legally you may have 3 months of prescribed medicine from Mexico. Being the drugs are in prescribed bottles, many get away with it.

Yeah, looks like no NYC show tonight. Oh well.
I laughed at the Star Jones pre-wedding skit on SNL last night, no idea she was actually gonna do it. Is her fiance really as gay as was depicted?

Evening all -- very rainy here in SE NM. Just right for going indoors to our area's newest attraction: A casino and racetrack. Yep, our little town on the Texas border opened the casino at 1 p.m. to VIP's and those who registered on line. You don't have to travel 400 miles RT to get to the Indian one in the mountains anymore.
It employs 200 now and another 200 when the track is complete. Right across the street from the college, but they got an exemption for gambling and alcohol. No Indians around -- this is strictly big time Anglo investment.
I know about the stories of how it will hurt the local economy (folks will spend money here instead of going to restaurants, etc.) but since we don't have any restaurants except Bert's Burger Bar and Juan's Taco and Tamale joint, and no stores except Walmart and a half dead K-mart it won't be too bad. Talk is we may actually get a new restaurant or two -- a Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Outback or even a 24-hour Denny's would be nice
Got in with a VIP invite from my boss who was already there; grabbed a couple of free beers and a dozen shrimp and scarfed them down. Went to find him and his wife and they said they were up $600 on quarter slots. Put in my $10 and came away with $47. Loose slots the next couple of weeks and then I suspect they'll tighten them down.
Left just about two hours after I arrived and there was a line of headlights down the highway. Boss just came by the office and said they had to close down the place to new arrivals because the casino and parking lot were both overflowing!! Grand opening is tomorrow and it will probably be a repeat of today.
