Isn't this basically what Bill Maher was trying to say the other night? I just don't get why you're trying to drive the guy off the air...

IMHO, Maher wasn't taking a shot at Clinton, though that might have been the unconcious meaning of his words. Maher is as unfriendly to a conservative POV as one can be--I used to watch his show, but he got too wacko. I won't miss him if his show is cancelled.

Yeah, he probably would've loved that. Imagine the potential to set aside the Consitution and remain in office for life.

That we were attacked after the klintons left power was the only saving grace in this disaster. If Bill was still president, he'd have appointed Hitlery as "Minister of Internal Security". She'd have all the guns conficated, and the owners in camps, within a week.

That was why Hitlery was sitting there last night with a more-sour-than-usual look on her evil face. She knew that if Bill was still in power, she'd be standing behind him in her new black uniform with the silver trim, and the peaked hat. Clinton didn't have the moral credibility to lead this nation in that kind of war. His motivations would have been suspected at every turn by every nation. It would have been nearly impossible for him to lead.

When the order comes down for 500 to fight to the last man so 5,000 can live to fight another day, it's not just a matter of following an order. Knowing that your leaders have integrity there's no question that it's a last resort and decided fairly eliminates any doubts that those asked to sacrifice may have.

The military ethic that demands you follow orders also demands that lives are not to be squandered.

I have no doubt that the military would follow his orders. It's the people of this country and the world that wouldn't cooperate. If Clinton say's Afghanistan's responsible and asks France to commit troops, they'd say, "where's the proof". Republicans would say, "didn't you just bomb an aspirin factory?" Rush would say he's in search of a legacy. Think he'd get fence sitters like Turkey, the OAS or Oman? Good luck. Bill probably couldn't organize the world like Dubya's doing today.
