I don't have a conceal-carry permit but your local law enforcement agency would be a good place to start. Thanks for you contributions.

Call a local gun shop, they should know where you go and what your state's laws are for carrying concealed.

BEFORE you get the permit, JOIN THE NRA! After you get the permit...join the International Defensive Pistol Association. Then participate in the monthly matches of the club nearest you. THIS is the organization which will impart to you the NECESSARY SKILLS to survive a hostile street encounter. many IDPA clubs also do combat shotgun and tactical rifle...these are good items to become familiar with as well!
