I agree. We SHOULD re-examine our policies in the Middle East. We should no longer support despotic medieval tyrannies. Which means ALL of the Muslim states except for Turkey. From now on they can fend for themselves.
We should also do everything in our power to destroy OPEC and increase our production of oil so that we will no longer have any temptation to forget just who our enemies are.
If by not freezing the assets of the suspected terrorists and rebuffing any further investigation, a country can still be "pleasing" to the U.S. government, this is going to be a phony and even futile war.
Somewhere along the line the Saudi Royal Family apparently got the Bush Family by the gonads and they've never let go.
I have a feeling such actions by Iraq would not be "pleasing" to the White House.
Hypocrisy and double standards must end.
More and more it's looking like the Saudis are the real problem in this. They're also making themselves more and more dispensable as an ally.

I'd rather have as little to do with those Middle East barbarians as possible. While your idea is intriguing, it most definitely would lead to an all out war with the Islamic Muslims, which means every Arab state would join in too. Are we prepared for that? I don't think so.

I hope they made his jet sit on the tarmack all day waiting to for clearence. Rudy could have gone down to the airport and had a couple Rabis bounce the idiot around the terminal, then told him he really should reconsider his position in suppoerting the Palistinian Terrorist, and signed the check over to the Meat Packers Union.
I don't think so. Particularly if some of the oil income was diverted to the benefit of the Arab states that have no oil. Also, countries at a distance from the Gulf, such as Egypt, would have a great deal of trouble getting their armies into the fight.
All that has to be done is to seize the oil fields, all of which are very near the Gulf and under it, and a buffer zone. We wouldn't be interested in any other territory. The inhabitants could be suitable induced to leave the area involved.
Having most of the oil in the world under the control of people like the Saudis and Kuwaitis is a greater risk/price than the industrialized world should have to pay.
