TAS had deteriorated by Jan 1993. I bought TAS in the 1980s, when it was a tabloid printed on cheap paper. It was kinda funky.
By Jan 1993 it had turned slick.

The trouble with Ben Stein is that he is repetative. I enjoyed him for almost a year, but every column is identical. Life is great. It's great to work in Hollywood. He loves little Mr. Perfect. His life is great. He's so happy and lucky. He has flakey neighbors. He bought another toy for little Mr. Perfect.
I stopped reading Ben Stein after a year. I still highly recommend his late 1970s book, The View From Sunset Boulevard, which remains relevent. Buy it -- if you can find a copy.
It'll teach you how to watch TV. Conservative deconstructionism at its finest.
