McManiac's statement is good and correct as far as it goes. Unfortunately, he left out the "domestic" side of it, which has the potential to be the most daunting and dangerous part.
I don't see any good ideas on how we are to expeditiously handle the enemy within our boundaries or how to do it without destroying ourselves or our Constitutional freedoms while we're at it. Everything he references is "over there".
It's easy to call for the elimination of foreigners in a foreign land among a foreign population. It's when these same fanatical and hidden enemies are mixed in our own population that the rubber meets the road.

I still wonder who wrote it for Senator Mc Clean, does not sound like anything I've heard from him .... ever. The entire time I read it I couldn't help but think he found something his father had written long ago in a stack of dusty papers, shook it out, changed a few words and sent it in to the WSJ.

Thanks for the flag, carpio. It's a good, solid patriotic piece and it received a lot of air time.
Sen. McCain is wrong about the Northern Alliance, though. If they take Kabul before any accord is made with the majority tribes in the South there will be more serious civil wars ahead. The Northern Alliance front lines are angry, understandably, and have refused to join an alliance with the south, or even the moderate former King. We are helping them by keeping the Taliban troops under control in the north (wiping out a good number and sending the rest into the mountains), but I don't think we're too anxious to help the Northern Alliance claim a sole leadership role in Afghanistan. They made a mess of that once before.

McCains right, kill them all and do it now while we have the backing of most of the left.
