Correcto mundo. The only stasis which matches this stasis is that of the liberal environmentalists positions: First, it was global cooling....then, when the naturally occurring stasis of temperature trends reversed, the issue became global warming... Of course, LiberalLarry has not done his homework back far enough to realize the shifting sands of the environmentalists positions...he is a "new believer-alarmist". Perhaps, he will get his global warming, but it will probably be due to Armagedon first and some terrorist nuclear bombs before the natural occurring phenomena. Some libs "justa donna get it". I am more concerned about the world's short run doomsday scenario for existence if political realities are ignored than LibLarry's alleged long-run doomsday scenario of global warming.

At what price per gallon? Have you ever heard of crude oil cost per barrel averaging? Imported crude oil is imported because it is the path of least resistance, economically. Production costs and taxes on production, and shipping costs are much higher in the US. If we were totally dependent upon US crude oil to meet our national demand, then you are looking at probably $6.00 per gallon gasoline prices, minimum. . Waivers would have to be granted by the US government on environmental issues to allow use of high-sulfur crude oil, allow offshore drilling, allow expanded secondary and tertiary methods of recovery to be used in older oilfieds.....all kinds of issues which you have not cranked into your (70 years of remaining supplies)...In addition, you would be looking at re-vamping refineries which were built for certain types of imported crude oil (i.e., low-sulfur, high yielding lighter end type crudes). Additional coker facilities would have to be installed and tremendous investment in new scrubbing facilities... Why? Because the bulk of the US demand for crude is for the lighter-end products (naphthas and distillates) for gasoline and aviation fuel. The rest, of course, are residual products: heating oil, ship bunkers, asphaults, coke, etc. Watch the American public scream when they have to pay the price...especially the libs... But if we don't pay the price for our own oil independence, then we will lose our national independence...Power goes to the country who has economic power and if you pull the plug on our energy overnight, we are in deep doo doo.

Yup.

Earth has survived axis-shifting, continental drift, meteor-smashing, seismic and vulcanic destruction, atomic testing, comet-tail dousing, oceans rising, falling.....

Hey, what are the Lib plans to combat continental drift? We better start talks with our soon-to-be neighbors and get a consensus on border issues.

"Choose your way to die"

But that IS the problem (although not the way you put it). IF there are REAL environmental problems then we are all faced with REALLY UNPLEASANT choices. In my view the right refuses to face the problem and the left refuses to face the unpleasantness.

The rest of your stuff all seems like hopeless rant.

You don't know me so what I do or don't know or do is unknown to you. Your diatribes are aimed at some prototypical, liberal straw-man. Well, that's your problem.

Changes from global cooling to global warming. to whatever comes next are not evidence of incompetence - they are evidence of the difficulty of coming up with theories which effectively account for all the known facts and render more or less accurate predictions.

Whether or not a true jihad develops in the near future has little or no bearing on global warming or its proposed solutions. From other posts I gather we have enough domestic resources to last us for the duration of the war.

You could use a little humility - not to speak of improved manners.
