Prayer should be the only weapon we really need. We should have faith in the authority we respect in our governments to do their duty in protecting us. That is biblical. Purely.

I would be very skeptical about anything that may be even remotely connected with Fr. Gruner, he's been on the lunatic fringe for some time. he's as much as called the Pope a liar on more than one ocassion.

If Islamic terrorists whack the Pope, that would truly begin a Christian war against Islam.

Maybe so, but on the whole I trust Cardinal Ratzinger. And I agree that Father Gruner is basically a cultist who is NOT to be trusted.

It wouldn't be surprising, or wrong, if the Pope kept part of the third secret to himself for prudential reasons; but Cardinal Ratzinger is very unlikely to have told an outright lie about it.

Aside from all that, the Pope is a prime target for terrorists. There's nothing wrong with a request to pray for him and for the world.

This will probably get me kicked off the board or worse, but Ezekiel 3:14-21 is ringing in my ears.

See the Ten Commandments as revealed to Moses by God Exodus 20:3-17 in a non-Catholic (such as KJV) Bible. Take special note of the first and second commandments. Also Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book: and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Read Revelation 17. The woman is the one-world religion consisting of apostate churches, headed up by the False Prophet.

Please read the following WHAT ATTITUDE ARE GENUINE CHRISTIANS TO HAVE DURING THESE LAST DAYS? WHAT DOES JESUS EXPECT?

If you make it all the way to the end of the article without having a stroke, and want to know more, please see the two links at the bottom of the article.

For your own salvation, if you subscribe to the beliefs in the article you posted, please dispense with false worship, and strive to be like the two churches in Revelation 3 (Smyrna 8:11, and Philadelphia 7-13). I only tell you this out of love, for I would hate to see anyone who hopefully loves Jesus Christ foremost, be lost for bowing down to false idols, and who risks being deceived by the antichrist. If I am wrong, I hope someone will correct me. I have to go now, but you can flame away at my private e-mail!

God Bless all who read this, and may we all receive true discernment, courage, and strength for these times. I sincerely mean that.

One more thing. Cuttingedge.org has a pretty good track record for what they print. However, I think they may be wrong on the pre-trib rapture, seeing how millions of Christian souls have already been lost in Sudan and elsewhere. I think the important thing is to get right with God, and try to be ready spiritually for whatever His plans for us are.

The text of the Third Secret: "on July 13, 1917, and committed to paper by Sr. Lucia on January 3, 1944:

"I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine.

"After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God."

Since there is no symbol of Christianity bigger then the Pope it only makes sense that fanatical Muslims would love to kill him.

I actually thought/hoped that this was going to be an interesting thread, and then it degenerated into the usual fundy Protestant attack on Catholics, with the corresponding Catholic rebuttals. Catholics, please, ignore these guys! If they want to get on a Catholic thread and attack us, fine, but let them rave away while we ignore their foaming at the mouth and go on with our discussion of whatever it was the original thread was all about. (Which, by the 5th or 6th fundamentalist attack/rebuttal exchange, is pretty darn well forgotten.)

Pope to fully reveal the Third Secret.

The third secret is the world is about to end and Jesus is about to come back. They don't want to tell us, because average person will not be able to handle turmoil.

"She told me she is very worried about the international situation," Don Bianchi told Italian journalist David Murgia. "She said we have entered a crucial time for the Church and for the world -- and that the only salvation is prayer."

I wish they would just release the text, all of it and get it over with already. The last time they 'supposedly' released it, it was garbage. According to several books, the third secret was about 25 lines on a piece of paper. But when the Vatican website posted the 'alledged' third secret it was 3 pages long!

I believe that Sister Lucy has said that it deals with apostasy. I suppose there are several ideas as to what apostasy is, but one that I read was when James and others considered Paul apostate for falling away from the Law. (Saying that the Law was dead).

If that is a reasonable definition of apostate, it would certainly fit in with what Sister Lucy said. For there are a great many that have fallen away from the Law.

It seems that she also said it would have a negative impact on the church. And if people have been deceived about the Law being dead, well, that would sure have a negative impact!

For a little more background it might be worth reviewing this thread:

Sr. Lucy Receives New Message>

From that thread:

Sr. Lucy Receives New Message

Culture/Society
Source: Diocese Report

Posted on 10/7/01 7:41 PM Eastern by HapaxLegamenon

Michael Matt, editor of the Remnant a traditionalist Catholic newspaper published the following report on their website. We have been informed by a reliable contact in France that Sister Lucy (the only surviving seer of the Fatima apparitions) has delivered a message to Carmelite sisters in France. According to this report, Sister Lucy recently received another communication from the Mother of God. In the wake of that communication, we are told, Sister Lucy has asked Carmelite sisters throughout the world to pray specifically on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary for a special intention. That intention is, we are told, that the world might be spared “a blood bath.”

Whether this has any connection to the impending war with Islamic terrorists, we have no way of knowing. Though our French source is reliable, we have not been able to confirm this report ourselves, and are now in the process of trying to do so. At least two Carmelite convents in the United States have indicated to us that they have NOT received such a message. One Carmelite convent, however, did confirm that they did receive a letter from the Asociatcion Ntra. Sca Del Rosario in Fatima Portugal (dated September 13th, 2001), which did call on the Carmelite order to unite with Sister Lucy in praying for peace in the world on October 7—the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In this letter (written in Spanish) there was no mention of a recent communication to Sister Lucy from Our Lady, nor was there reference to a “blood bath.” We are presently waiting for the text of the French version. In any event, we believe that, because time is short between now and the Feast of the Holy Rosary, it would be a good idea for all Catholics to join the Carmelites in praying for this intention on tomorrow’s Feast. Such an intention is a certainly most worthy, especially right now; so even if this French report turns out to be somehow exaggerated, the intention is still well worth remembering during this critical hour of unrest and uncertainty in the world.

The text from Sr. Lucy's convent.

And a further explanation:

Spirit Daily - Daily spiritual news from around the world (some good stuff, some questionable stuff on this site IT WAS ANOTHER NUN AND NOT SISTER LUCIA WHO REQUESTED A SPECIAL DAY OF PRAYER

@Spirit Daily ,p> A source in Coimbra, Portugal, at the convent where Fatima seer Lucia dos Santos resides, has told Spirit Daily that the idea for a vigil prayer last week did not originate because of a new revelation given to Sister Lucia and was not even the seer's original idea. It started with another nun.

"What happened was that Mother Maria do Pilar, some years ago, had an intuition that we could save the world with the blessed Rosary," says our source. "Mother Maria is the founder of the movement of the blessed Rosary. It's a movement of priests, nuns, and laity. Now, Mother Maria do Pilar is in Fatima. When she first came and was in the Apparitions Chapel she remembered that the Blessed Virgin appeared with the brown Scapular. She associated the Rosary with the Scapular. She talked with Sister Lucia about this and Sister Lucia agreed. We can't separate the Scapular from the Rosary. In the Carmel order we are celebrating 750 years of the brown Scapular that was given to Saint Simon Stock by the Blessed Virgin, the Mother of Carmel. For us a blessed year. A year full of grace. It's because of the 750 years and because of the fact that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared with the Scapular, as Our Lady of Carmel, that Mother Maria do Pilar with the sympathy of Sister Lucia of the Immaculate Heart of Mary invited all Carmelites for the prayer vigil on October 7."

Rumors had swept the world that Sister Lucia had received a new revelation urging a prayer vigil that day in order to stem off a coming "bloodbath."
