Ashcroft is tired, he is pissed, and he is hoping that this alert is just a drill and not a really big thing to have to deal with!

Of course they wouldn't answer any questions about how they learned of the possibility of attack, whether it was electronic or writen, etc.. However, it would have been nice if someone had asked if they knew the identity of the source.

Otherwise, it's almost like another high school bomb threat anonymous phone call.

Ashcroft held a press conference giving a warning of some non-specific terror threat over the next week. He looked pretty damned serious, and pretty damned grim... almost resigned or distraught.

Not much information, just "stay alert" stuff.

They definitely know something... and it isn't pretty.

Ashcroft's distress could be something as simple as coming from a hand-wringing session over not being able to track down more about what the threat really is, and the feeling that sooner or later the other shoe is going to drop if they don't get a handle on this stuff...

Yep. It certainly wasn't anything he said, but Ashcroft's grave look and that pause before he spoke - very unnerving.
