That is different, I would not be fighting to subjugate and eliminate a whole group of people for religious reasons, but fighting for survival.
The chances of Islam even uniting in there own land is so remote that the possibility of them taking over the whole world is almost in the realm of fantasy.
They have no proper infrastructure, no heavy industry no real armaments industry. There population base is mostly unskilled, they are highly reliant on the West not only for technology but even for basics like feeding there people.
Without the West they would collapse into an state of anarchy.

Whether you realize it or not, that is exactly what you are fighting for - because that is what THEY are fighting for. Their survival is dependent on subjugating and eliminating a whole group of people for religious reasons. Most people just won't realize it or accept it. Just like Jews in pre-Nazi Germany didn't believe the Germans were capable of what Hitler said they were going to do.
They "started" coming after us in the 7th century when the peaceful prophet massacred 600-900 Jews in present day Arabia and then his successor cleansed the Jews, Christians, and other infidels from the Arabian peninsula. After that Islam tried to subjugate the known world, its principle accomplishement was nearly destroying completely Eastern Christianity.
So, we know they already went after us but we can't seem to learn the lessons of the past.
Yes, cut off from the West, they would massacre themselves. A far better answer than us doing that for them.

I would not be surprised if a large part of the Muslim population woke up and said f**k this you are not leaving me alone with these whacko’s, maybe we can work something out.

If they didn't do you think the world would care any more than it cares about what's happening in most of Africa.
So we will have to wean are self’s of Muslim Oil and fast.
If people are prepared to spend billions fighting a war then inst it worth it spending billions making the West self-sufficient.
Instead of sacrificing the life’s of are sons and daughter we could sacrifice some of are comforts

I live in a neighborhood with a high concentration of prosperous, educated Jewish baby boomers. Prior to 9/11, I would describe most of them as doctrinaire moderate left; having a sort of eye-rolling contempt for Dubya and anything GOP.
Since the attack, many of these same neighbors have undergone foxhole conversions, and are unabashedly supporting Bush and the war effort. As Jews, I think they understand better than anyone what's at stake.
