There is no excuse for the delay.

Easy for you to say, Mr. Armchair General.

Yes, yes, yes! Bush needs to use that bully pulpit in primetime to get this message out to the American people. Rumsfeld is absolutely brilliant, but how much of what he says actually gets through to the sheeple. His point is that the press is part of the problem, and yet the majority of the sheeple get their info by watching TV news. The 24-hour news channels cover these press briefings live, of course, but they occur at midday when most people are at work. By dinner time, whatever he has to say is reduced to soundbites. Trust me: the best bites would run on the evening news. No way.

Prime Time Bush next week? I did miss that.

Maybe he is going to announce the return of biochem inspectors to Iraq -

"Ladies and Gentleman, after several weeks of analysis by top american scientists I am forced to conclude that... (insert tough brilliant speech here)... and finally, let there be no misunderstanding - that any attempt to delay, obstruct, or in any other way impede the work of these "american and british" inspectors will result in the gravest consequences for the present government in Bagdad. God bless you and good night."...

Sigh.

The immature cynicism of Major Garrett and Bob Franken is pathetic...Rumsfled had to take time out of his busy schedule to tell these IDIOTS get a grip!!!

You know not what you speak of. Here's the strategy skippy.

1. Obtain air supremecy.

2. Bomb military and physical infrastructure to make command and controll and logistics difficult for Taliban.

3. Destroy armored vehicles, and tanks.

4. Destroy roads and supply lines BEHIND enemy troops.

5. Carpet Bomb front-line troops.

6. Invade and destroy those troops not yet immobilized by 5.

7. Victory over taliban.

8. Go after Al-Qaeda in montains and caves.

Great post! I am printing this out. I am going to put on the wall, where I can see it clearly. Whenever I begin to doubt that we are fighting terror fast enough, or being tough enough, I am going to reread this eloquent man's simple, straightforward explanation of what we are doing, and why it is so important that we are doing it the way we are, not the way the ignorant, childish, undisciplined press wants it done.

bullshit, one well place nuke would have accomplished all this and much more, it would have sent a SERIOUS MESSAGE, plus it would have been much quicker, much less expensive, and would have put far fewer of our men in harms way. Stop worrying about Coalitions which don't exist and Nuke a city for every anthrax death that occurs.

Great. We don't even know who did this but you would go nuking cities whether that country was involved or not. Can you say war crime?

That 'take no prisoners' picture should be sent to Topps to include in their operation enduring freedom trading cards.

I'm sorry, but any comparison between the Taliban and the Imperial Japanese Navy or the Wehrmacht is nothing short of an offense to the intelligence of the American public.

We should have wiped the floor up with these ragtag snots in nothing flat. And I'll also add that we ended the war with Japan by using a trump card that we should be playing now, but won't, because we don't want to offend the enemy.

If the primary consideration during WWII was to avoid offending the enemy, we'd be eating sushi today and ordering it off the menu in German.

"The beginning of the end of PC. It's dead and I'm glad to see it."

It won't even be the middle of the end of it until they close down the damn arab-only flight schools that are taking in students from terrorist states as we speak.
