“We need to protect those who live here,” declared North Salem Town Supervisor Sy Globerman.

Globerman said the only way to protect the United States from bio-terrorism is to stop Arabs from entering the country. Not all Arabs, but those who come from countries that support terrorism.

He believes they could be carrying deadly diseases like smallpox as an act of war.

“We do not have the resources to combat this with through law enforcement,” said Globerman.

This week Globerman sent this email to Senators Charles Schumer and HIllary Clinton as well as Congresswoman Sue Kelly asking for a push for border closings.

Zehy Jereis of the Arab Americans Foundation calls Globerman's idea pure hatred. Opinions on the streets of Westchester were mixed to his idea.

Both Kelly and Clinton said they do not support Globerman's idea. Senator Schumer did not return calls for comment.

I see nothing wrong with this.

Makes sense to any reasonable person.

Unfortunately Sy Globerman will probably be tarred-feathered and rode out on a rail by tolerant New Yorkers for stating the obvious.

Weren't most of the terrorists from Saudi Arabia? Does the US consider Saudi Arabia a country that supports terrorism?

Use the government to protect American citizens? What a novel concept. I'm sure the leftist would never allow such a thing.

I'm sure Clinton recoiled in horror at the thought that this may result in saving the lives of her mortal enemy, the American Citizen.

Why would there even be any debate about somerthing so obviously needed as this.

A little less so than my friends here on the west coast I suspect.

But I do sense the PC nazi's have regrouped since 9/11. Many haven't learned a thing.

That was a waste of time and energy. Your're talking about dumb and dumber here.

Place a 5 year moratorium (10 years for some countries) on immigration and lets get the mess we already have here straightened out and then we can work from there.

Imagine, if in World War II we had continued immigration from Germany, Italy, and Japan. Imagine if during the Vietnam war we had mass migration of people, "students" etc., from North Vietnam.

We didn't then for very sensible reasons.

But common sense and political correctness are not the same thing!
