BBC
Posted on 11/04/2001 5:35:53 AM PST by IcommGen
A Palestinian gunman has opened fire on an Israeli bus while it was travelling in Jerusalem on Sunday, wounding seven people, police and witnesses said.
"We saw a Palestinian terrorist shoot at us from the outside. He didn't stop shooting," a woman passenger on the bus told Israel radio.
The bus was travelling in Jerusalem's French Hill neighbourhood.
Police sources quoted by the French news agency AFP said the gunman was shot dead by police.

What I don't understand is how a Palestinian homeland in that same geographic area will make anyone safer or happier. Will these types of attacks suddenly stop? I don't think so.
To: IcommGen
Didn't you get the memo? They are no longer to be called terrorists. They are to be called "Freedom Fighters against Zionist occupation".

Shooting attack on Egged bus at French Hill junction in Jerusalem
By Barukh Kra and Haim Shadmi, Ha'aretz Correspondents and Ha'aretz Service
At least 16 people were injured close to 4 P.M. Sunday when one or more gunmen opened fire on Egged bus No. 25 at the French Hill Junction in north Jerusalem. Four of the injured were said to have sustained moderate-to-serious injuries, and the remainder light injuries.
Police forces and ambulances are at the scene. Jerusalem police chief Mickey Levy said "between one and three terrorists" had opened fire on the bus. Levy added that soldiers at the scene of the attack killed one of the gunmen.
He said that the gunman who was killed was a 34-year-old Islamic Jihad member from Hebron.
Israel Radio reported that there were some 40 people travelling on the bus at the time of the attack.
"We were travelling on Bus No. 25 to Jerusalem. Suddenly they shot at us. We saw the terrorist shooting. He kept shooting. He didn't stop," one passenger on the bus told Israel Radio.
The injured were taken to Hadassah University Hospital Mt. Scopus, Hadassah Ein Karem, and Sha'arei Zedek Hospital.
There have been several attacks at the French Hill junction this year. On February 22, an Israeli was shot and wounded by a Palestinian gunmen there, and on March 27, a Hamas suicide bomber blew himself up at the junction, injuring some 30 people.

"The Zionists have murdered ten times as many people as the Palestinians." If true, it apparently was not enough. ( I have lost any sympathies I ever had for the Palestinians.)

Well, I'm sure as soon as Ramadan starts, the Palestinian "Freedom Fighters" will cease from killing until the end of the Muslim holy period. After all, the religion of Islam teaches peace and love for ALL of mankind.

And another thing. We accidentally kill a kid who a terrorist uses as a shield and they want to kill every American and we're falling all over ourselves to apologize but when they purposely kill several thousand America civilians they dance in the freaking streets promising more will die. As far as I'm concerned they are subhuman savages.

What we see happening against Israel today, we'll see in our streets in the future. The savages learn what works and they see that the world turns a blind eye (just another chapter in the Palestinian fight for freedom, yawn. Israel brought it on herself. Just like the apologists are now saying, America brought Sept. 11th on herself.)
To think that the terrorist apologists sold the West the lie that the Moslems in Chechnya and Croatia were the persecuted ones. Wherever there's a Moslem population, there's trouble.

Islam is a peaceful religion. George W. Bush told me so.
For GWB to even be entertaining the idea of a Palestinian State is absurd. I miss Jean Kirkpatrick almost as much as Ronald Reagan. Saw her interviewed on Fox News the other night. Not only did she say that Bush would be making a mistake to approve a Palestinian State, she said that it was interollerable that we were loosing the PR campaign throughout the Middle East.
Her solution? She said that the United States should render the Al Jazeera network incapable of broadcasting!!! I like her style. She said that this is a serious business and that our country should not tolerate the massive anti United States PR campaign.
Its time for some truth telling and propaganda silencing!

Or, in BBC-speak, those nice young men from Palestine. You mean "activists."
In America, our activists hold peaceful protests for things like gay rights, gun rights, enviromentalism, etc.
In the Arab world, their activists blow up buses. But we shouldn't be so narrow-minded and judgemental.
They just have a different culture, that's all. We have to understand, they want to kill Jews, who are we to stop them?

Looking at your bookmarks in your profile. You seem like an anti-Semetic. That is disgusting and I consider anti-Semetics no better than Adolf Hitler. Yes, there is violence on both sides. But if people were threatening you and your family would you shoot back? Or call the ACLU? Get a grip.

Obviously the ADL needs to start a
diversity program to teach
tolerance to the Israelis.
They could start with The Children.
They must learn to accept alternative lifestyles, religions, and cultures as they are all equal.
If only the Israelis would listen to the Palestinians, find common ground, and appreciate the wonders of Arab culture they could work together for peace, love, and harmony.
Peres, Annan, and Arafat need to appoint BILL CLINTON as high commissioner for Mideast peace.
Only then will there be peace in the region.
