Here's one thing we fight for, and
Defend against ALL enemies, Foreign and Domestic
By: Jeff Head November 14, 2001

As many of you know, I took a trip with my youngest son, Jared, late last week from Idaho to Indiana and back. It was a "flying" trip in the which we left Thursday in the late afternoon, drove 1850 miles in 32 hours along I-80, arriving in Indiana at about 2:30 AM on Saturday morning. We visited my daughter, her husband and our first grandchild/nephew on Saturday and Sunday, helping to bless and name Breadon (a ceremony/ordinance in our faith), and then left Sunday in the late morning. We then drove 2100 miles back to Idaho. On the return trip we took the northern route using I-90 out of Chicago and visited my second oldest daughter in Bozeman where she works and goes to school.
On the way out, we saw FReepers John R. (Bob) Locke and Eustace (Rick) and his wife. We visited Bob in Cheyenne, WY over breakfast on Friday morning and then Rick over dinner in Iowa that same evening.

Jeff Head and John R. (Bob) Locke in Wyoming
Unfortunately we did not get a picture of Roick and his wonderful wife ... but we sure did chow down at a great Buffet and have a great, constitutional and patriotic discussion.
Then, upon arriving in Indiana, we were able to spend some GREAT time with my oldest daughter and that beautiful, beaming and innocent as fresh snow garndson. Here are some pictures of that visit.

His Dad feeds Braedon, A brand new family, A new Uncle (Jared) gets to hold his nephew

A nice home for a nice family, Braedon goes aloft, Braedon says hi while being held by Mom

Jared holding Braedon again, Grandad (me) holding the little critter, Braedon likes to play footsies.
My wife had spent 10 days there earlier helping the new Mom figure things out while she figured out what being a new Grandmom was all about. She liked it so much that I had to make the trip to see what Grandad was all about. Gotta tell you ... it's just another true indication of what life is all about ... after coming to know God, finding the right woman and having and raising good kids of our own in liberty.
Then we were off on the trip back. Here's a few pictures from that trip.

Chicago Skyline, The Sear Tower (God protect it), Rock Formations in Minnesota

Great to see the Mountains again, Devil's Tower Plaque, Devils Tower, Wyoming

Jared at the Custer Battlefield Memorial, Custer National Cemetary, Jared and his sister Rachel
Now, let me say a thing or two about our nation.
I will defend with my life the liberty of my children and grandchildren. Nobody, foreign or domestic, will take away their liberty to live life free, to have the absolute minimum intrusion (as intended by the foundres) and to defend their own liberty as long as I draw breath.
The list of "nobodies" includes terrorists, foreign powers and any unscrupulous oath breakers amongst our own governmental officials, or any groups within the borders of this nation who would seek to do so.
I support our government's constitutional efforts to wage war against the enemies who attacked our nation. As I read it, the recent Executive Order calling for military tribunals for any foreign individual (and the order was very specific about it applying to foreign persons) particpating in terror attacks against our nation is fine and a needed provision for war time. I do not see it as a threat to the citizenry. However, the so called "Patriot Act" which takes freedom from all of us is not. The government has the tools it needs with respect to immigration, border control, visa control of foreigners and police powers for criminals to address these issues without curtailing the liberty of law abiding citizens.
The American people and patriots are aroused to defend their liberty, the government needs to make sure all of its actions are clearly pointed at doing that and not curtailing it. At the best, we help our enemies when we curtail the general liberty because that is the ultimate goal of those enemeies ... to destroy the liberty that hundreds of thousands have died defending, and therby destroy our nation. At the worst, such activities and curtailments are the acts of domestic enemies bent on ending American liberty and life as we no it. I will fight any such enemies to my last breath so that the coming generation, young ones like Braedon, may enjoy the liberty I have enjoyed, that my father enjoyed and that our bloodliines have enjoyed back to the American Revolution.
In conclusion, for anyone interested, our trip was great. That little critter, Braedon, is a joy and a God send ... and Jared an I are once agains back home with our own in our adopted and beloved Idaho.

BTW, I see the theme of the last set there. Pictures of great landmarks and sites of people in front of them. But what I'm wondering is what is so special about that parking lot that you felt you had to get a pic of?
To: Jeff Head
God bless your beautiful grandbaby. They are what we're fighting for!! May the future be bright and FREE for all the little guy and gals.

Sir, you have stirred something inside of me that hasn't been so stirred in quite sometime. I can't pinpoint exactly which words you used or which pic did it but I can say that I consider it an honor to have read this post.
I have read many of your posts and am always impressed.
Yes, that precious little one is a Godsend, as are they all, and his future is worth giving our lives for. God Bless you.
To: Jeff Head
Congratulations! Thanks for the ping!

I will defend with my life the liberty of my children and grandchildren. I have neither, but I would do the same, as you know. Super post!
To: Jeff Head
Looks like you've got yourself a little piece of heaven in your family. Congratulations all around.
Regards,
To: OWK
"Old" is such a relative term ... relative as in Grandpa LOL!
To: Texaggie79
Thanks ... any pic of a grandbaby is a good pic!
To: sit-rep
Sorry bro! Didn;t know exactly where you were.
I'm sure we will be back. We're thinking about a spring break trip.
To: Texaggie79
The two standing in the foreground.
My daughter had to take a break at work to visit with us and we went out to the car to show her the 1st printed copy of my book Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire that she had not seen yet.
To: volchef
Amen to that ... and if I have anything at all to say about it ... that future will be bright and free!
To: fod
Thanks! In this time of terror, uncertainty, upheavel and crisis ... there are some things that remain sure, solid and clear as mountain spring water.
This is one of them.
To: deadhead
Yes he is ... clearly gets those looks from his grandmom's side.
To: Jeff Head
This was a mighty good read, and the baby is adorable. Congratulations!

Thank you ... in these uncertain times it is good to be reminded of some things that are certain and solid as bedrock!
To: Jeff Head
May God Bless and Protect you and your family.
To: PleaseNoMore
That future, for the rising generation, MUST be secured and thaeir liberty vouchsafed by our actions.
That is certain, amidst all of this uncertainty, that is non-debatable!
Thanks for the kind words. God bless!
To: Jeff Head
Congradulations! He looks like a happy baby.
To: Cool Guy
You are welcome. Sometimes it is important to be reminded, in as we experience all of this upheavel, that there are some things a pure as the driven snow, and crystal clear.
To: Jeff Head
Jeff,
Congratulations on the 'new' member of your family. He will get protection from us as well as yourself. I'm glad Jared was able to go with you to meet his nephew. I'm sorry you weren't able to spend more much more time with your daughters and glad you made it home okay. Thanks for all the great pictures.
Love

Bro, I know without a shadow of a doubt that you would do so for me and mine, as I would for you.
In these uncertain times, there are some things that remain certain despite all else. The love of God is one of these, and its manifestation in the innocence of children is another ... and the absolute necessity of defending them and their future liberty is another!
To: Jeff Head
Now, let me say a thing or two about our nation. You've been out of Texas too long. That should be "Now, let me say a thing or two about Texas".
To: Jeff Head
Thanks for posting this and these wonderful pictures!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
BTW - I live in southern IN - maybe the next time you are out this way.....
I echo what another person stated on this thread---something in your post really stirred me - I am the mother of 3 sons - ages 18, 15, and 10 - and - well, while I cannot really explain it - your post really stirred something inside of me.
Thank you

As is any baby ... but for me, well it is clear to this old cowboy that this particular baby has clearly got a leg up on any others on that adorable quality ... but I wouldn't be biased in the least in that regard. LOL!
To: 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub
Thank you ... may He do the same for us all. I believe He will.
To: Jeff Head
I was going to comment extensively on your report...
...but I just can't stop saying "OH, AREN'T THOSE KIDS CUTE???"
Yeah, yeah...women.
LOL!

Congratulations on the 1st grand-rugrat! My son was the first for both sets of grandparents so I've seen how special it is. Especially because you get to leave when he starts acting up ;-).
God bless Braedon and all the little ones out there. And God bless the USA.
To: Jeff Head
Darn Jeff, you passed within 100 yards of me in Rapid City, SD, wished I'd have known.
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS are in order, Grandpa :)))))

"except when he gets hungry and there is the slightest delay in feeding"
