"A New Century, A New Grange"

If this gets pulled from breaking news, be kind and put it on the front page list.

I sure hope that Agroterrorism is beyond the capability of Al-Quaeda, because making people scared of their food is a better fright than worrying about suspicious mail laden with Anthrax.

"agroterrorism" - what a gimmick. Just the latest to piggyback on the post-911 bailout orgy.

And what's with "czar"? I hate that word. It's so dumb.

This is a lower profile, but very real threat. PETA says foot-and-mouth disease coming to World Dairy Expo would be positive ,

Just one of many articles on the subject at this great place!

Iowa passed an Agroterrorism Bill last year. Many states have them. Were these pieces of legislation discussed at your meeting in Cedar Rapids?

Your meeting in CR got a decent amount of coverage in the Gazette, given the small membership in Eastern Iowa. Most Farmers in Eastern Iowa are Farm Bureau members, with a few in the Southern 2 tiers of counties belonging to Farmers Union.

Ever since this round of terrorism began, I keep thinking about that James Bond film, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." For those who can't remember the plot, JB discovers Blofeld's plot to ruin the major agricultural product of first world countries through use of (gasp) gorgeous women who are brainwashed into becoming the instruments of sabotage.

A number of scholars have predicted that the next global crisis will be over control of food and fresh water. It's already happening in sub-Saharan Africa and the ejection of white farmers in Zimbabwe by the government in the name of "land reform" is a pretty good precursor of a coming famine in this once rich and fertile nation.

All the more reason to eradicate these mad dog destroyers. Who do they think is going to feed the subjects of their new ultra-Islamic empire if they wipe out the means of production? I hope the Islamicists find a way to make petroleum nutritious, but somehow, I doubt it. Maybe they think Allah will provide.

Oh, great. Create yet another federal "high-level position" for some fatass parasite (kinda like Ridge, now that I think about it) to retire on.

These welfare farmers are good at cooking up more government goodies, aren't they?
