Persuasion of those who may not share all your ideas is more important in the end than just preaching to the choir.

Very good point.

A true Libertarian would never march with a socialist

Here, I'll try to rephrase it for you: antiwar.com writes favorable articles about socialist dictatorships.

Re- $10K reporting...this may (or more than likely may not) help to reduce taxes for all of us poor idiots who receive a W-2 (and actually pay taxes). As a N.W. Suburban Chicago loan officer, you'd doubtless be disgusted (as am I) at the level of tax fraud committed by many, many self employed individuals who live in swank areas such as South Barrington, Lake in the Hills, and Palatine (and certainly elsewhere around the country). I frequently see tax forms showing an adjusted gross income of $40K-$60K on a federal 1040 form for an individual who lives in $1MM+ home with a $4K per month mortgage payment. In terms of debt ratio, these folks would be completely screwed by most lenders except that there is a huge market that for "Stated Income & No Income Verification" loans that assist these scumbags in their attempts to defraud the IRS. Certainly a major loophole that needs to be closed.

On a personal note...I had a customer who owned several Dairy Queen stores and made $830 cash payments ($830x12=$9,960) every month on his $84K Mercedes. He stated that he paid this amount in order to dodge the $10K/year cash payment reporting requirement and that he'd done so with several other creditors in order avoid paying taxes on the income from his "cash heavy" business.

Just tell me who you voted for and I'll understand you better.

Why is it so important for you to understand me, Ms. Racey Gracey?

I assume you are asking about my presidential choice so I'll just give you my entire presidential voting history:

1996 Republican Primary: Patrick J. Buchanan
1996 General Election: Harry Browne
2000 General Election: Patrick J. Buchanan

So, do you understand me now, Gracey?

Try this experiment. Look on their site for articles criticising the abuses of liberty by China, Russia, North Korea or Cuba. Then look for articles excusing same countries or expousing their policy goals and actions.

Do the same next for Western democracies and republics only in reverse.

It shouldn't take long before you see the pattern: West bad; socialist/communists good.

That's one interpretation. Of course, you're assuming I started voting as soon as I was of age. Even if you're assumption is correct, I could still be as old as 26.

Yep. You vote on "principle" so you say - therefore pushing the Republican party further & further to the left to form a 50% majority. It's all a question of math.

I say join the Republican/Libertarians and you will have a voice. (Our thinking isn't too far apart)

The libertarians are marching with the socialists because no republican has the guts to stand against this administration.

Exactly. Without influencing the party from within, they leave the party and cus it to slide more the other way.

You learn quickly, Cool Guy. It's all a question of mathematics.

The Buchananites, Libertarians, Taxaholics, Independents, Constitutionalists, etc., never have a voice for they don't join a viable party.

Tu Marrow is here, even in CA.

you may be talking about other libertarians, but the ones at antiwar.com were marching with them before this administration. Remember, they chase that elusive, and oxymoronic, left-right coalition.

'Course on this site, they try to keep the left part of it under a sack.

As a Canadian, I've never voted in the USA. A problem we are having here for some time is that it doesn't matter who you vote for really, those who have been set in a position to be elected will ALL have a similar agenda to push that isn't necessarily what the people want. It seems to me the same deal there because Bush seems like Clinton squared. I think about the complaints from Repubs about Clinton passing enviromental land grab laws, and compare to the imense power grab that is occuring now, against the principles of many conservatives and I have to shake my head in disbeleif. Sees whoever you have to vote for is singing the same song. I also highly doubt that the POTUS is the ultimate anyway. So, what does it make to swap out the public faces and have the same increasingly tyrannical leadership? A dictatorship?
