My father-in-law, Cliff, was admitted to the hospital today. When we visited him tonight, out of the blue he asked what church we wanted to go to. I explained that I'm non-denominational Protestant, I just believe God's word, and that we haven't found a real church home yet. Cliff then said that it didn't matter too much because there is only one thing we can do to get to Heaven. I asked him then if he believed in Jesus...and he said, "Yes!". Wow! Talk about an answer to prayer! (Also, physically he is much stronger, more alert, able to eat a little)
Then, not 5 minutes after we got home from the hospital, the National Runaway Switchboard called again with another message from Betsy! This time she said she wants to come home, but that changes need to be made, and she recognizes that she needs counseling. She wants to set up a conference call through the Runaway Switchboard, and I agreed.
Brothers and sisters, both of these events tonight were direct answers to prayer from our Lord! My father-in-law would NEVER talk about God...or even the necessity for salvation, much less express a belief in the precious gift Jesus has given us.
Betsy, on the other hand, has been petrified of counselors and counseling for years. Her admission that she needs help is yet another miracle...delivered to her and us straight from the Lord's hands!
Thank you all so very much for your continued prayers, and please don't stop. satan will use every trick he can think of to prevent Betsy and Cliff from enjoying God's marvelous mercies and purposes for their lives. Thank you all again so very much!
