Dear FReepers and Lurkers,

I am not a terribly religious person, but I'm hoping that your prayers might help a Lake Havasu PD officer. Clint is a 22 year old Police Officer who will be facing a "high-risk" operation on December 17th, to try, for the 2nd time, to remove cancer from his body.

Two years ago, Clint was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and was subjected to intense and aggressive treatment, after which they believed it was in remission.

A few months ago, after experiencing some severe pains, it was discovered that it was back. He was once again subjected to intense and aggressive chemo and radiation therapy, but apparently it didn't work.

On December 15th, he'll be entering the hospital in Phoenix, and on the 17th will undergo a "high-risk" operation to remove a growth the size of his bladder.

During the time that I've been priviledged to know this young man, he has never ceased to impress me with his upbeat, positive attitude. When he was losing his hair due to the chemo/ratiation therapy, over 50 (of the 70+) of his fellow officers shaved their heads in support of his fight. This was featured on the TV shows Good Morning Arizona and NBC's Today Show. Clint has been mentoring the PD's Explorer Scouts, and has throughout this entire ordeal, exhibited absolute grace under fire. He has never, in public, been anything but positive that he would beat the cancer, and continue to serve the people of our city as a Police Officer, which is all he's wanted to be since he was a youngster.

Will keep him in my prayers. As a former police chaplain i know how important the officers are to one another so the fact that most of them would shave thier heads does not surprise me at all.
