We ARE using this thread to send our Hanukka greetings to our Jewish FReeper friends! (Gee, I wish there was only one way to spell it in English)!

Have a Happy High-tech Hannuka as we celebrate the victory over those who would send us back to the 7th century.

Thank you, neighbor, and let's all hope that this holiday season remains as peaceful as it can under the circumstances.

> My Chanukah greeting go out to all of you. To the steadfast Christian supporters of Israel and to all the Jewish Freepers. Thanks, Dennis, and Happy Hanukah to you all. Here's an interesting little paragraph someone sent us about Hanukah from a Messianic perspective:
"WWYD? What Would Yashua Do? He would celebrate the feast of Hanukah which is the antithesis of the pagan celebration of Christmas. In 168 BC Antiochus Epiphanies celebrated the re-birth of the sun god, by taking over the Jerusalem Temple Mount and erecting a statue of Zeus - on Zeus' birthday; December 25th. Three years later on Kislev 25, the Jews broke down the statue of Zeus, and began the 8 day celebration of the Feast of Hanukah - which means "dedication". That is still the Feast in which we celebrate our personal deliverance from Pagan Sun God worship and the re-dedication of our lives to serve the true God. That is the Feast that our Messiah celebrated -
Do What Yashua Did! " . . . Michael Rood, 6001.com

I have seen 3 different spellings listed for this holiday.
What is the correct form, in case I wish to wish somebody a happy one?

What is the correct form, in case I wish to wish somebody a happy one? There is no "correct" English spelling for Chanukah/Hanukkah, they are all phonetic approximations of Hebrew.
