Isaiah 11
- 1
- A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.
- 2
- The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him-- the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD--
- 3
- and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;
- 4
- but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.
- 5
- Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
- 6
- The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.
- 7
- The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
- 8
- The infant will play near the hole of the cobra, and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.
- 9
- They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.
- 10
- In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.
- 11
- In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the sea.
- 12
- He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.
- 13
- Ephraim's jealousy will vanish, and Judah's enemies will be cut off; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim.
- 14
- They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west; together they will plunder the people to the east. They will lay hands on Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them.
- 15
- The LORD will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that men can cross over in sandals.
- 16
- There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt.

KEYWORDS:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for this day and for the blessings which are in it. I thank You for the success You have given us thusfar in this military campaign and for a commander in chief who is not ashamed to address the spiritual needs of the nation as well as its physical needs. Lord, I pray for President Bush and ask that You would help him to be a holy example to all of the world that is watching. I pray that You would give him wisdom and strength to stand for that which is right and ask that Your grace would rest upon him and this nation. Help him Lord to discern Your truth in the midst of so many competing truth claims, and cling to it.
I pray for the people of Afghanistan. I pray that they will truly know freedom, in every way. Freedom to live and walk around freely. Freedom to learn in classrooms. Freedom to enjoy life. And most of all, freedom to know You. Bar Satan from interfering in their lives and in getting Your message of salvation to them. Bar him from success in his designs for America and Israel. And glorify Yourself in all the earth. For it is in the precious, holy, and altogether marvelous name of Christ Jesus my Lord that I pray, Amen.

Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Blessed are You, Lord God, the God of Israel, who does wondrous things; and blessed be Your glorious Name forever. All the earth shall worship You and shall sing praises unto You and Your Holy Name, O most high God. You govern all things in heaven and earth. We ask You to mercifully hear the supplications of Your people today.
We come to You in obedience to Your Word in which You tell us to pray for kings and leaders. Therefore we lift up to You President Bush and we pray that he would be holy and acceptable in Your sight. Gird him with Your truth and let him wear the breastplate of righteousness. Let his feet be shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Help him to take the shield of faith so that he may be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Let him wear the helmet of salvation and let his sword be Your Word. May the glory of You, our Lord be his rear guard. Please enable him to put on the garment of praise and let him be completely covered in the name of Jesus, according to your Word.
We pray that President Bush will build his life, his home, and his marriage upon Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Let the gates of hell never prevail upon him, for You are his shepherd. Please supply all his needs according to Your riches in glory. Enable him to do all things through Christ as You strengthen him. Help him to cast down all imaginations and bring into captivity every evil thought. Let him cast every care and every burden upon You, for You care for him. Help him to walk in divine health, for You are the God who heals. Let him praise You and thank You for his prosperity and good health, even as his soul prospers. Let the joy of the Lord be his strength.
Father, we pray for our President according to Your Word, and You have said You will watch over Your Word to perform it. We pray that You would live mightily within President Bush because he is Yours. Live mightily in each of us who pray here as well. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I praise you today for your wisdom and your goodness. You have known long before today the times we would be in, and it is both awesome and comforting to know that you already have a plan for your final victory. I place my faith and trust once again in your most capable hands.
I lift up President Bush to you today and pray once again for his guidance and wisdom. He has placed his trust in you, and I ask that you honor his faith by pouring out upon him and his advisors your holy wisdom. Let them know how to proceed in every situation. Grant them the knowledge of perfect timing, and let your annointing be upon him that he might communicate his plans effectively and motivate others to follow his lead. Keep his heart pure, and keep once again your solid hedge of protection around him.
In the precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen
To: Reagan's_Mom

Praying with you that God our Father will protect our President, lead and guide him, inspire him, comfort him, be with and protect the military in their hour of special need now. May God bless America, and I pray that Americans look to God for their salvation and help in their daily lives.

Oh, LORD, our LORD - how majestic is your name in all the earth!
With all humility we remember this day those who perished on 9/11. Thank you for the President and his wife who led the country today in rememberance. I thank you for the photo of the two of them with bowed heads in prayer. What a testimony that is. Their testimony is not to themselves, but to your power, mercy, and goodness.
Reign in the hearts of your children in ways that purify us. Draw the hearts of those in darkness in ways that will justify them before the Father.
Master, I can only imagine the pain these days of rememberance bring to the widows and widowers of the last 91 days. You have promised to be with them and comfort them. We praise you for the peace you can bring to them. I pray that those who do not know you will cry out in their pain to the only One who can give them rest - now and for eternity.
I pray all this in Jesus name,
Amen

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would comfort the families and friends of those who still grieve the loss of someone important in their lives. I pray that, what others meant for evil, You will continue to use for good. Do not let us forget, Lord, what happened and how much we need You. Do not let those who have heard Your call as a result of 9/11 become discouraged or complacent in their new walk with You.Show us all, Father, how we can be better witnesses for You and better citizens of America.
I lift up our President and our leaders; I ask You to protect them physically, enrich them with Your wisdom, give them a hunger for the truth and courage to act upon it. Lord, we know that You are sovereign, and this gives us great comfort. Forgive us for the times when we take back the cares we have handed over to You; have mercy on us, for we become afraid at times. Help us to remember our priorities during this Advent season, and help us to be more aware than ever of the meaning of this season, and the wonderful gift to us that is Your Son, Jesus Christ. I ask these things in Your name, Amen.

Father in Heaven how we adore thee, Thy works are glorious and nothing can compare. Father your love for us is so great, too wonderful for me to understand. Yet I am eternally grateful for Your love, that even though I am sinful you love me still.
Father this nation looks to President Bush for leadership and guidance. I pray that they see you through him. May he increase in knowledge and wisdom and understand what your will is. May he be the leader this nation needs him to be. Protect him in all of his ways and I give you thanks for all things Lord great and small, for things that have happened and things to come. I pray this in Your Son's Holy and precious name, Amen.
