It's all about a little baby whose life was saved even before he was born.
The pre-born child's mother was very young and single. She was a pregnant teenager. Of course, we know now that the conception was Divine. But very early in her pregnancy, only Mary knew the baby was of God.
Joseph, her fiancé, at first thought she had become pregnant by another man. Joseph must have been devastated. I'm sure he was both furious and heart-broken at the evident betrayal by the woman he loved.
He probably also felt like killing her, which would have been an acceptable choice during the time in which they lived. What man would not have been overcome by a combination of anger, anguish and sorrow in such circumstances?
Yet, Joseph decided to deal with the matter privately and quietly. He would, in the midst of his grief, end the relationship in a manner that would protect both Mary and the child she was carrying. The law and culture of the time allowed for a pregnant woman and her illegitimate, pre-born baby to be stoned to death. But this was not an option for Joseph. The merciful, compassionate and unpopular decision to save the lives of both the woman and her unborn baby was made by a man who, in his understanding at the moment, had been betrayed, cheated, shamed and heart-broken. This selfless, life-giving decision was made in a culture that provided men the "choice" to kill both mother and child.
It was a man a man who defied popular thought, a man who found strength to move beyond his own anger and heartbreak, that saved the life of the unborn baby who is the Messiah.
Today's culture would tell us that a man has no voice in issues of life or death of a pre-born baby. Not even when the child is his own. The feminist mantra and the lie of the voice of death have been powerful enough to distort the thinking of an entire society.
Our men have lost the ability to save the lives of America's children.
If one of the foundational truths of modern law is that a man can do nothing to protect his own pre-born child, is it any wonder why we have so many other problems? Is there really any mystery why our culture is fraught with crime, broken families, drug abuse and sexually transmitted diseases? If we've perverted the truth so much that there are actually laws which give mothers the right to kill their children, while denying the right of fathers to save them, is it any wonder that our "solutions" to social problems are chaotic and doomed to fail?
The Bible gives us a historical hero on issues of pre-born life a bold, selfless example to follow. And remember, the baby wasn't even his baby. Joseph set aside his honor, emotions and heart-break to save the life of a pre-born child that he believed to belong to another man. And the result was the birth of the Savior of mankind.
If America's men are to save our country, they must first be able to save our children. Our righteous men must be courageous, and bold, and selfless, and merciful, and compassionate on the issues of life. If men will follow the example of Joseph, we can end the scourge of legal abortion that is destroying both the lives of children and the soul of our nation.
Those generous, caring people at Planned Parenthood only want to suck inconvenient living infants out of womens wombs so the oppressed women can move on with life and not be burdened with an unwanted child. It's all some man's fault, anyway and hey, there won't be any guilt, remorse or negative medical consequences - so why worry? </sarcasm off>
Sorry, Planned Parenthood propaganda doesn't fly here.
Lies and distortions are for the Democrat sites, where lies are the native tongue and baby killing is almost a sport, as long as you can call it a 'fetus' and a 'crisis pregnancy'.
Sure He did; and all the unwanted kids who
live a hellish life of abandonment and pain thank
Him daily, don't they?
Just curious...
I hesitate to imagine a God who would wish a lifetime
of failure & pain upon anyone...and that is exactly what
these children are born into.
Orthodox icons of the Nativity frequently depict Joseph in the bottom left-hand corner, hearing out a ragged old man. This is the Evil One, tempting Joseph to deny the evidence of the revelation set out before him.
Your justification for killing an unborn child sounds like something Margaret Sanger would say. Margaret Sanger set up her first clinics in the immigrant slums of NYC. How many people from those immigrant slums worked hard and made something of their life.
Tell that to Beethoven who surely would have been aborted by todays criteria. Tell that to Colin Powell, the son of Jamaican immigrants born in Harlem. Tell that to Anna Mae Bullock (Tina Turner) whos mother abandoned her and grew up poor in the segregated south. Condolezza Rice was not from a wealthy family and grew up in segregated Birmingham. What about Oprah Winfrey whos mother abandoned her also. Elvis Presley was dirt poor. So was Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. I havent found anyone yet who had as horrible a poverty filled, depressing life as author Frank McCourt. Tell this to any of the 4 Beatles. Tell this to my grandpa who was born in a chicken coop and who was in and out of school all his childhood, depending if he needed to work to help his family or not. He then went on to the Navy and was in WW2. He finished up his education and got a PhD. in biology and taught biology for 30 years at a university. Tell it to my grandmother who had an abusive father and lived in a two room house with a dirt floor. She got herself a good education, graduated Salutatorian of her high school class, gave birth to three children and had 8 grandchildren. One of them me. :) Glad my great grandma didnt abort her.
Life is what you make it.
Further more, I dont believe what you say. Its a line of propaganda used to justify abortion. Abortion doesnt stop pain and suffering. There has been pain and suffering before Roe v Wade, and there is pain and suffering now. Each individual has a chance at life. And with the help of a loving God, they have even a better chance. Why not let each child be born, then they can decide if they like life or not. Then they can kill themselves. Chances are they WONT. Most people want to live, no matter what circumstances they find themselves in.
Abortion is not the answer to lifes problems. Also, you can't imagine a god who would want someone to live in pain and suffering. There is no such god. My God doesn't want anyone to suffer, and if life should bring suffering I have him to depend on. Perhaps it's the devil who wants people to be born into a lifetime of failure and pain, don't ya think?
