Why don't U.S. bishops excommunicate all the pro-abortion Catholic politicians? I ask this question often, but never get an answer.

Why are you labeling "Evangelium Vitae" a Catholic-bashing thread?

Don't worry - the followers of Martin Luther (whose clerics molest children at a greater rate than Catholic priests) will be here soon.

Well, I doubt any answer you'd get would really satisfy you. I don't think any of the U.S. bishops post on this forum, so any answer you get would simply be one Catholic's opinion. Personally, I think such politicians ought to be excommunicated. On the other hand, the sad truth is that such excommunications would probably help those politicians get votes. About ten years ago, an underdog candidate in San Diego was using her pro-abortion views as a center-piece of her campaign. As a result, the local bishop said that she should be denied communion. The media picked up the story and presented as the Catholic hierarchy picking on a nice lady. Sure enough, she won the race. You'd probably have voted for her.

A catholic friend of mine says that the now disgraced Law told him frankly the Archdiocese in Boston gets a lot of money from Boston.
