But times have changed. Clinton is out, Bush is in, and porn moguls are nervous. Can I repeat that one more time?
But times have changed. Clinton is out, Bush is in, and porn moguls are nervous.
How about one more time?

"everybody does it." They never did say who "everybody" was.
It wasn't me.
Many were outraged by that statement.
Not "everybody" is a liberal whore.
The liberal whores are those who accepted this statement.

Pre-meditated failure to enforce obscenity laws against hardcore porn on the public airwaves and Internet was one of the cornersones of Clinton's legacy. He was in bed with Hollywood and the porn industry, and the boom occured under his watch and it was an iside joke with pornographers. The porn that Clinton allowed to be distributed in the 90's is much different from the porn of the 80's. And as you see in the Wall Street Journal article, by failing to act he did double damage by destroying the concept of local community standards, since now hardcore is available everywhere over cable/Internet. It's similar to a dealer giving out free cocaine then saying it should be legal because everyone is now hooked.
If you need details on how it's much worse now, you can find it here in a extremely graphic Salon.com article which I think refers to the case who's trial is starting tomorrow: Extreme Porn Crackdown

Part of the Clinton legacy can be seen in how many who post on Freerepublic are inured to porn - maybe addicts themselves - and who take issue with posts that express alarm about having porn all over the Internet, where it's easily accessible to kids -- (and addictive to adults, playing a factor in broken marriages and personal perversion). Bush and Ashcroft should make a move against pervasive porn, because the debilitating effect it has on people's character and morals only helps create more Democrats and turns the culture more and more against the sturdy values (self reliance, self control, accountability) that the GOP has always been about. It's no surprise that the Dems, the party of slavery in the 19th centruy and of segregation in the 20th, are the party of porn in the 21st. The GOP can't afford to wimp out.

LOL! I wonder if they used the "everybody's doing it" excuse with their parents and got away with it?? Never worked for me..........maybe that's why I don't follow the crowd now! :o)
Actually, I think it's more like "I'm gonna do it cause I wanna, and you can't tell me not to!"
Same level of maturity, IMO.

"When Clinton came in, it was definitely blue skies and green lights," said pornography producer Mark Cromer. Even the article attributes some of its success to clinton.

..Quietly and steadily, George W. Bush is reversing the corruption and damage done..This is the best part.
Wait til they wake up from their obsessive attempt to destroy this President and they find out what he has done. They will be livid. It will be too late for them.
They will be a minority for a long time to come.
Good overcomes evil.

BTW how does viewing porn contradict self reliance or personal responsibility. Self reliance and self government to me means the government only defends the country and keeps the streets safe for commerce and travel. Nothing else. As of now its handing out entitlements and stealing money from everyone in the form of oppressive taxes. Ashcroft may care about porn but I'll almost guarantee you Dubya doesn't.

the list warns porn producers against showing such acts as sex between a black man and white woman I think I'll go rent that Reconstruction era documentary about this. I believe it is called "Mandingo." I wonder if Ken Burns produced it. :-)

FRONTLINE presents "American Porn" I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of dissappointed male channel-surfers tommorow night at 9:01. ("Dude, check out what's on PBS!....Aw man, nevermind!")
Seriously though, why is sex between a black man and a white woman more serious or offensive? Ideas, anyone?
