I just learned yesterday that you no longer can say -'call a spade a spade'. I never associated race with that expression; it never dawned on me that it could be offensive.

So I should complain that corned beef goes on sale for St. Patty's Day since not all Irish people like corned beef??? This over sensitivity is getting tiresome.

Before it's yanked? I give it 20, tops. Depending on who's manning the kill switch tonight.

Not all African-Americans eat fried chicken, greens and chitlins. And, of course, they don't know how to pronounce or spell chitterlings.

This area of Pennsylvania is Wonderbread territory. They honestly didn't know that what they wrote was offensive, which makes it so funny. I asked a black friend of mine who lives within mile of the store if he 'gots to go git hisself some chikin,' and he almost passed out laughing.

Halfway there. Does this mean that all advertising must be politically correct?

I'm not offended in any way by cheap fried chicken. I am, however offended by Black History Month. There's a racist event if there ever was one. When is White History Month?

Question:
Has anyone seen the Gateway commercial featuring the Amish in a barn trying to assemble a computer?
They are the ones who should be whining about racism , politically correct and profiling .
LOL
Thanks for the post............John

I'll have to remember to be offended the next time I see a sale on Kosher meat.

"...Not all African-Americans eat fried chicken, greens and chitlins. We like salad, roast beef, low-fat chicken, just like everybody else, she said..." When I was young I knew an old Black gentleman who enjoyed barbecued raccoon.
I was given the opportunity to sample it on more than one occasion, but I had some nagging concerns about rabies, and passed every time.
The only clothes he had were old coveralls and straw hats... And he had maybe a half dozen teeth in his head... And he ate barbecued raccoons with indecent relish...
He was a walking, talking 'stereotype' and he knew it.
But he had sense of humor enough not to be bothered by it. Hell, he'd laugh about it, he reveled in it.
And that made all the difference between people remembering him fondly, as I do, and people spitting on the ground that trash like Paula Diane Harris walks on, as I happily would if the opportunity presented itself.
