Dear Baby,
You are getting this message because one of your U.S. Senators sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. To speak out against Judge Charles Pickering, the current anti-choice judicial nominee, simply reply to this message and hit "send".
On Thursday, February 7, the Senate Judiciary Committee held its second hearing on the nomination of Judge Charles M. Pickering, Jr. to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. At the first hearing on October 18, 2001, Judge Pickering's answers did not shed sufficient light on his position on reproductive choice. At yesterday's hearing, Judge Pickering's testimony failed to assure the American public that he will safeguard the rights to privacy and reproductive choice.
Judge Pickering's record reveals deep-rooted opposition to reproductive rights and hostility toward other civil rights. Judge Pickering poses a clear and present danger to all people's participation in the economic, social and political life of our nation. President Bush's judicial nominees should all come with a warning label: 'Beware...May Be Hazardous to Women's Health and Civil Rights.' Judge Pickering is no exception.
Because the overwhelming majority of cases are decided by the lower federal courts, it will be the judges on those courts--like Judge Pickering--who determine the future of the federal courts and their role in protecting individual rights, including privacy and reproductive freedom.
The letter that will be sent to your Senator is included below:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I am writing to you to oppose the nomination of Mississippi federal district court judge Charles M. Pickering, Sr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Throughout his career, Judge Pickering has demonstrated hostility towards reproductive rights:
-In 1984, when Judge Pickering was the president of the Mississippi Baptist Convention, he presided over a meeting where the Convention adopted a resolution calling for legislation to outlaw abortion except when necessary to preserve a woman's life.
-In 1979, as Mississippi state senator, Judge Pickering voted for a resolution calling for a constitutional convention to propose an amendment that would have banned abortion.
-In 1976, Judge Pickering chaired the subcommittee of the Republican Party's Platform Committee that adopted a plank calling for a constitutional amendment that would have overruled Roe v. Wade. Judge Pickering spoke in support of that plank on the floor of the Republican convention that year.
Because the overwhelming majority of cases are decided by the lower federal courts, I am concerned that judges appointed to these courts be committed to safeguarding the rights to privacy and reproductive choice as set forth in Roe v. Wade and the earlier Supreme Court decisions upon which Roe rests. At his hearings before the Judiciary Committee, Judge Pickering failed to assure the American public that he supports Roe v. Wade and that he will fully protect a woman's right to choose.
I implore you not to confirm Judge Pickering. His record reveals deep-rooted opposition to reproductive rights and hostility toward other civil rights, and he has failed to assure the American people that he will protect their basic freedoms. Judge Pickering poses a clear and present danger to all people's participation in the economic, social and political life of our nation.

And of course, contact your Senators and urge them to approve Judge Charles Pickering. It is time for freepers to forget about cheese, moose and Brittany - - and get to work!
I hope he will safeguard the right to privacy and the right to reproduce. Don't want this place to end up like China, as the national socialists at planned parenthood want it to become.
What hypocrites.
When Democrats are picking judges, they whine incessantly about the horror of Republicans using a 'litmus test'.
They have blood on their hands, and one day soon they are going to find out that there is a much higher judicial power they are going to have to deal with...and it ain't no committee.

Says a lot, doesn't it?????????
I hope so. And I hope there are many, many great minds out there all aware of how important this nomination is. As your other post makes clear, the left is fine-tuning its borking machine. Making sure it is in working order for when the bigger one comes along.
If Pickering goes down easy and the Bush adminstration is afraid to fight, the left will will increase its targets.
Freepers need to get back in fighting shape and stand up for Pickering.
I recommend subscribing to federally funded Planned Parenthood's Action Network with the name of your choice so that you can see what the enemy (that you subsidize with tax dollars) is up to.
Of course with the notable exception of babies trying to be born into it!!
Have you ever noticed that this evil organization transfers their misdeeds to the good guys?
There is no other business like BIG ABORTION that has done more damage to the economic, social and political life of our nation than Planned Parenthood et al.
Some U.S. Population and Profile Figures from 1993 published in 1994 U.S. Abstract:
Age 45+ 80,629,000
Age 18-44 108,294,000
Age 5-17 46,654,000
Under 5 19,512,000
Where are the future taxpayers to take care of this aging top heavy pyramid?
Allan C. Carlson of The Rockford Institute has claimed that "It appears that the long-term negative economic impact of abortions performed in the United States since 1970 approaches $2 trillion annually." (courtesy of 1997 March for Life Fund and Annual Report.)
Congress stop funding PLANNED PARENTHOOD.
More double-speak from the anti-life crowd. Perhaps someone from their fine organization could explain to me how killing fetuses amounts to 'family planning'. And the natural biological process of pregnancy and childbirth, ordained by our Creator to propagate the human species is a threat to 'women's health', while abortion, condemned by all major religions, is supposed to be wholesome and therapeutic? 'Hypocritical' hardly begins to describe their twisted thought processes.
So to your question "Why are my tax dollars going to support PP?", I might add,
"Why are my tax dollars going to support her and her little bastards?"
