ACTION ITEM:A version of Campaign Finance Reform, notably the Shays-Meehan bill H.R. 2356 will be debated and voted on next Tuesday and Wednesday, February 12th & 13th. It is imperative that you call your Congressman for the next five days! Ask your Congressman to VOTE NO on the Shays-Meehan bill H.R. 2356. The Capitol Hill switchboard phone number is 202-224-3121. Please forward this information to as many other grassroots conservatives as possible.
It is important to note that, if the present Shays-Meehan bill passes, the influence of average citizens on the political process in America would be drastically reduced. It would weaken the ability of associations of like-minded individuals to educate the public on their points of view.
In short, the losers would be pro-life/pro-family organizations and the winners will be the liberal media establishment, wealthy individuals and corporations, millionaire candidates and incumbent politicians.
We need YOU to act now! Contact your member of Congress and tell them you OPPOSE the Shays-Meehan bill H.R. 2356 – and encourage your friends and family to do so as well.
Talking points on the Shays-Meehan Campaign Finance Reform bill:
The Shays-Meehan bill is an assault on our First Amendment free speech rights to educate the public on pro-life/pro-family issues and where public officials stand on those issues.
The Shays-Meehan bill could cripple the Christian Coalition’s ability to distribute voter guides and legislative scorecards.
By crippling the ability of conservative organizations to educate voters, the Shays-Meehan bill empowers the liberal news media and allows them to become more influential in our election process.
The fine print of the Shays-Meehan bill contains language which is so vague and expansive that conservative groups would constantly be at risk of being investigated by the federal government or being at the mercy of the Federal Election Commission’s interpretation of the vague language in the bill.
MORE INFORMATION: Currently, the House leadership plans to allow debate and then hold a vote on the Shays-Meehan bill that we OPPOSE.

I know there has been a number of threads on this subject. I realize we've had numerous articles posted here on it. This is such a urgent situation for those of us in the conservative and christian communities. Our very existence is pretty much at stake. This bill if it goes through will essentially knock us out of this process of discussing issues of public importance and most likely out of our own communities too.
The Democrats and their supporters in the G.O.P. and the established media view us (christians and conservatives) as a liability to our own communities and that we need to be banished out and sent to oblivion for the sake of our own communities.
Yes, I have read the bill in it's entirety and everything I'm saying is true. Anyone that is for this is on the side of our adversaries in the Democrat party and the news media and is not a true freeper.
If you haven't done so, please contact your representative and let him/her know about this bill and the threats it poses to the christian and conservative communities.
However, I can pledge $1000 to a PAC intended to defeat (preferably in primaries) all Republicans who voted for this bill. Can we start such a PAC (and fund it primary with soft money) ?
Also, I suppose that we should concentrate on calling wavering Republicans first. So, who is wavering ?
