Why does this shock you? Do you think Dell's entire order-filling system is free of human contact? That thousand-dollar orders just roll in from the internet, and robots direct the list of special-order components, then install them? And then test them? Stuff 'em into boxes, too? Dude, I have news for you: A human somewhere has to approve each and every build order, one at a time.

No doubt. I can't seem to convince folks here that I'm all for opposing a company vocally and financially when they've shown themselves to be on the wrong side of an issue like this. I no longer buy Levi's. No more Hormel chili, thank you very much. But screw-ups do happen. If Dell was anti-gun, they would've used this media spotlight to proclaim that fact from the rooftops. What they did was admit that they screwed up and offer a free notebook to the customer. I call that going the extra mile.

Is it fair that the feds use a private company like Dell to do their heavy lifting? Heck no. But until we get rid of the Ted Kennedys and the Fritzie-boy Hollings, we're stuck with it.
What I think they did was allow an employee to take their personal prejeduces to work and cancel an order because they're an anti-gun zealot. They're now spinning big time, trying to come up with an excuse.
They need to be made an "example", in order to demonstrate that the gun people are politically powerful simply because of their numbers, organization, and passion.
If such "examples" aren't made, then we eventually loose everything.
That is Handgun Control, Inc's web site there is no way you could legally put it up unless you hadthe password etc.
I would think Dell would have them take the link down if they refused to support them.

You're delusional, Chainsaw. Why don't you read over a few hundred of my posts here if you think that's the case.
You're talking about something here that you don't have the faintest understanding of. Signing up to be a Dell affiliate takes about 10 minutes if you're already a Linkshare member or a couple of days if you're not. If you don't believe me, go try it. I've set up maybe a hundred affiliate accounts in the past. How many have you set up? Inferring that a company supports some organization because their affiliate link is on a site demonstrates a total absence of understanding as to how the online affiliate business works. As I said on the other thread, I bet you I could be set up as a Dell affiliate for AHCI (Anti Handgun Control Institute) in no time at all, as well as for a jillion other online companies. Don't spout off about things of which you're ignorant.
