Let me recommend one that needs help from the American Public and has been vastly over-looked:

KLAMATH BUCKET BRIGADE
aka
Klamath Relief Fund
P.O. box 5252
Klamath Falls,OR 97601
(541) 850-9495

Email:klamathrelief@aol.com

These are the people who are doing everything they can to save the basin, and it's community from government and green machine ruination. They have put out over 210 tons of hay for livestock, $100,000 in saving people's mortgages and farm machinery, $20,000 directly to kids clothing and food at schools, $20,000 to people they have heard about, but would never ask for help. These numbers are from early Febuary.

Bill Ransom, Barb Hall, the Carlsons, the Kings, and a bunch of the good people in the basin are doing everything they can to help people hold on. The Klamath Bucket Brigade is has no paid help - it is people helping people. We believe Bush is supporting the basin....but it will take a while to see any monies( and I'm not talking subsidies or "other" socialist garbage- these people were cheated out of there crops last year, and are hurting because of government and the green machine)....meanwhile people need help to keep from going bankrupt till they can get a season with water.Want to help America to remain a strong place place? Anything you can afford to send to these people goes DIRECTLY TO THOSE IN NEED - no overhead or other "charity fees" happen here.

Every spare nickel I've had in the last nine months has gone to the basin.

THANK YOU
JIM ROBINSON
&FREE REPUBLIC
for all thatyou have done for the Klamath Basin

We still have miles to go yet before things get better, but we believe the tide has turned! Help the people who care for the land and stop the green machine!

Rocky

and therefore you are withholding blood and monetary donations from the American Red Cross, and consequently needy Americans, in protest.

Bull puckys! The Red Cross collects slightly less than half of the blood donated in the U.S.. Many Hospitals have their own donation centers.

Here is a copy of my letter to the Red Cross

Please remove my name from your mailing lists. You have succeeded in offending me and my family to the point of no return. You have protested the treatment of prisoners by the US at Gitmo, yet you have been very silent in the case of Daniel Pearl and in the death of the American solider by the Al-Queda after his capture. This hypcrocy makes it very apparent that your organization holds anti-American views which I find very offensive, especially after an unprovoked attack on the US. This declaration of war on the US and the tragic deaths of thousands of innocent civilians was used by you to raise enormous amounts of money from the American people, the same people you now offend by your outrageous views. Even today it is reported that your Orange County chapter prevented the songs "America the Beautiful" and "God bless the USA" from being performed because"it may offend someone". Not that they did offend anyone, just that they MAY offend someone. Well, idiotic policies like that DO OFFEND me!! You do not deserve one penny from me, my family and anyone I may be able to convince that you do not deserve any funds from Americans. Please feel free to let me know why you may think I am wrong. Until then I remain extremely offended by your organization's actions and views.

The awards will be presented during the Red Cross' annual volunteer recognition luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine.

Freeping opportunity OC Freepers?

dpwiener, please keep us apprised. We wouldn't want to offend good people like your mother, but some exposure to this outrage might be appropriate.

To be truly tolerant, one would be tolerant of intolerance ... yes?

Don't donate to the Red Cross. They tell you if you disagree with the national organization it is still okay to donate to the local chapters. Not so. The local chapters all send in a portion of their collections to national.

DO NOT donate to the Red Cross.

No. It was John Gibson's show around 4-5pm (central time, that is). See my e-mail above in response to Gibson's editorial. He was REALLY incensed and rightly so!

See my post above regarding John Hutchinson's investigation of the history of the Red Cross and read the closing line of the article.

The United Sway says the same thing. Of course, they're both in deep with one another. The top executives at both get mega bucks. (upward of 300,00 a year).

The ARC took in over 2 billion last year and 86% of that was from direct public support. Why not just donate to other local charities? These middle-men do nothing to improve the process.

If you want to look at their financial filings through 2000 go to the link below, type in Red Cross and you can see their form 990 tax returns in PDF format.

I hope you don't mind, but I "borrowed" your letter as a basis for my own.

I am not a current resident of Orange County, however I lived in Orange County for eighteen years (I graduated fron Orange High School in 1974), and can remember it as being one of the nicest places to bring up a child, because I enjoyed my childhood so much there.

Your latest actions, however have succeeded in offending me and my family to the point of no return. You have protested the treatment of prisoners by the US at Guantanamo Bay, yet you have been very silent in the case of Daniel Pearl and in the death of the American solider by the Al-Queda after his capture.

Even today it is reported that your Orange County chapter prevented the songs "America the Beautiful" and "God bless the USA" from being performed because "it may offend someone". Not that they did offend anyone, just that they MAY offend someone. Well, policies like that DO OFFEND me!! You do not deserve one penny from me, my family and anyone I may be able to likewise convince (and I still have an awful lot of friends in Orange County).

Please feel free to let me know why you may think I am wrong. Until then I remain EXTREMELY OFFENDED by your organization's actions and views. Oh yes, and please remove the word "American" from your organizational literature. You don't deserve it.

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but hasn't the IRC recognized the Moslem Red Crescent, but refusedd to recognize the Israeli Red Cross branch?
