Some points:
Babbitt served as interior secretary under President Clinton.
He is the chairman of a new company that will help develop agriculture in the Middle East. This company, yet unamed, will provide unspecified services to the region.
He disappeared from a group of people was unaccounted for a period of time serious enough to warrant a police notification.
...But this could mean nothing...

Babbitt served as interior secretary under President Clinton. He oversaw the Bureau of Reclamation, which manages much of the West's water infrastructure, including Hoover Dam and other delivery systems along the Colorado River.Tom Ridge should be notified, and all those by the damn be evacuated !!!!
(Maybe this isn't really funny!)

He was found 40 minutes later. That is a very short time for someone to be missing and yet for it to be serious enough (to someone) to notify the authorities.

That is a very short time for someone to be missing and yet for it to be serious enough (to someone) to notify the authorities. It was taking too long to give the blueprints to the terrorists. They were worried.

Poor guy. All this publicity...
Maybe next time he'll think twice before sneaking off to take a BM without telling anyone.

"he slipped into the alternate universe"
Yes, you are right.
He visited the other dimension through which Hillary's Whitewater billing records traveled before him.
