Bill Simon, the California Republican gubernatorial candidate the experts said couldn't beat former LA mayor Dick Riordan in the March 5 primary, and would lose badly if he ever had to face Governor Gray Davis in November, is now a whopping seven points ahead of Davis a new poll shows.

According to Public Opinion Strategies Inc. (POS), a nationally recognized political polling firm retained by the Simon camp, Simon leads with 48 percent to Davis' 41 percent.

Even more bad news for Davis - fully 50 percent of California voters have an unfavorable opinion of him.

Despite expert opinions that Davis would be unbeatable in a race against the conservative Simon, the poll revealed that Gray Davis is extremely vulnerable in his re-election campaign, and that California voters are looking for new leadership according to the Simon campaign.

Breakdowns of the poll show:

If you would like a sneak look at Gray Davis's mean-spirited attack dog strategy, take a peak at today Drudge Report. It's going to be ugly folks. Davis is going to make those killer Canary Island fighting dogs in San Francisco (Bane and Hera) look like adorable puppies.

Gray Davis is going to cause the Dems to lose everything in California that Bill Clinton got them. Bill Simon is just going to help that process along.

Davis has this problem that not many have heard about yet:

Who's watching the children? : Ex-convicts abound in child care, parents unaware.(California )

Public Opinion Strategies Inc. (POS),

Uh, they need a new acronym, especially if they're in the polling business.

this is very good news; also please note that last week I read an editorial in the Wall Street Journal that said Simon has absolutely zero chance of winning the general election. Friends it looks like those fashionable experts who insist that conservative republicans can't win are just plain stupid themselves.

I can hardly express the joy I would take in watching Simon beat the tar out of Gray Davis. Prepare for the worst abortion and gun demagoguing in living memory. Thats all the Cali dems have left.

Wait until Simon starts running ads showing how much money Davis took from Enron, all the while disparaging them.

Or how he brokered a sweetheart deal for SoCal Edison.

Sad but true. Davis will have the most abortion-oriented campaign ever employed by any politician for any office anywhere. He believes this to be his main winning issue and will exploit it to the hilt. Heck, by November, I'll barely be surprised if we see a commercial featuring Davis personally performing an abortion.

Public Opinion Strategies Inc. (POS),

LOL, saw that, too. they could make it Public Opinion technology (POT) or Public Opinion workers (POW) or Public Opinion methods (POM). POS is an acronym describing gov davis.

This is news you won't get at ABCCBSNBCNPR. They'll be greasing up the Davis Smear Machine for a full scale attack on Simon. We can expect Democrat politics at its low down worse very soon in Califonia.

The article you are referring to in the WSJ was not an editorial, it was an op-ed piece by the CNN liberal moron Al Hunt.

Davis will run a nasty campaign.

Davis WILL run a nasty campaign, but the press here in San Francisco won't mention it until the first time Simon runs a negative ad.

"I kept the lights on. And this sounds a little presumptuous, but I think I should at least get a round of applause. I don't get squat."

Flush twice, Gray-out's office is asking for squat. It's our civic duty!

Yeah, there is no way Simon can win....What excuse do the spineless Republicans like those that run the Bush administration have now for supporting Riordan?
