Thanks for the tip about that mislink. I hope "grlfrnd" comes on board today ... she gave me the codes which I cut and pasted. I don't have a clue on how those codes work!! She will straighten it out (I hope!)

Savage is entertaining, but I find that he blows the facts of any given topic about half of the time. This excludes issues concerning nutrition and the like in which he boasts about his degrees and books during almost every show.

What I find amazing is his silly self-promotion lately. It's almost as if he has a self-esteem problem. He is always talking about himself, about how brilliant he is, and about how everybody else in talk radio is stealing his ideas...LOL

The problem with Savage is that I don't think this behavior is just his "schtik" (as seen with Limbaugh and others). Sadly, I actually think Savage believes what he says about how wonderful he is. The guy only gets away with this stuff because he does have a true talent with painting a picture with words.

Nice argument...about as good as Savage when he turns down a callers volume and bashes them before they can respond.

BTW, what is wrong with what I have posted? Does Savage not promote himself shamelessly? Does Savage not screw up on facts? Does Savage not remind his listeners at every turn about all of his degrees?

LOL

Carry on little Savage sheeple...

Geeze! Hiya! I tried to straighten it out. For some reason, it's fine when I put in the codes then after I send there's a space between the c and the o, or the o and the m.....hmmm.

This is what I do, I have a new folder on my desktop. You can right click, do NEW then FOLDER, then you *name* your folder (I call mine Michael Savage), then press ENTER, and voila you have a new folder.

Then, you just copy and paste those codes I gave you...um, do you have a WORD PROCESSING program? Onto a WORD document and then SAVE it in that folder....

Hmm, I hope you understand me...what's happening on the show? I've been on the phone....

Uhmmm ... I have a WebTV, so all your right-click, folder stuff is lost on me! However, I do have a "Save Favorites" folder and will put it there. So far, it has just been in my FReepMail. I guess maybe FreeRepublic would appreciate it if I cleared out all my old FreepMail, huh?

He gave a good history of the Israeli government, how it has been corrupted by liberalism. It has rotted it out like it is doing to our system.

Ya, the dog trial. He is speculating about, well, the dog's "relationship" with the owner couple, and therefore the "relationship" with the woman the dog killed. Wierd! I never thought of a dog that way, and I have always loved dogs.

Now talking about that global tax thing that I heard on a local talk show!! Vicente Fox wants the U.S. to support a tax on things like air fare, energy, etc.

Michael said years ago, he read about Karl Marx wanting the same thing! Wow!

Now a man from Lebanon on. Nick. I don't understand Mid-East politics at all.

Re-defining liberalism.

Who is Tom Friedman??

I've never heard of Tom Freedman either. The guy who called sounded like a poor deluded college kid.

I just tuned in, Friedman is a columnist for the NY Times.

This: The Saudi Challenge (Tom Friedman column) is who he is talking about.

I heard Michael say later that Tom Freedman wrote for the New York Times ... I think it was the Times.

End of show, imitations of newsman, Algor, and LIEberman! Good imitations!

I love it when Michael himself does LIEberman, and calls, "Hadassah ... oh Hadassah ... whine, whine, whine!"

The first time I heard her name (hadassah) I was like, what? That is a WEIRD name! My mother belonged to a luncheon group called Hadassah...oh here's their website http://www.hadassah.org/....it's um, an unusual name to say the least.

I commented recently on his unwillingness to engage people with whom he has a disagreement. Got flamed here. These threads are for those who like kool aid.

Savage has talent. I don't argue with that. However, if you really examine what he says or how he acts you find 3 things to be true:

1) he screws up on the facts from time-to-time (obviously, if I can see these errors when all I do is check newspapers and cable news shows, then Savage needs to do more show prep). BOTTOM LINE: don't take everything that he says as the God's honest truth.

2) his self promotion has been sickning lately. I'm tired of hearing about how wonderful his show is. I'm tired of hearing about how everbody else on the radio is a sell out. I'm tired of hearing about all of his degrees in nutrition or his travels in the South Pacific (like that makes him more qualified to talk about domestic & foreign affairs?).

3) turning down the volume on callers and flaming them when they have no means of engaging him in reasoned debate may be funny from time-to-time, but this does not make him a genius...he's just entertaining as a hatchet man.

Those are all things that I've noticed, too. Interesting that we have a Kool-Aid versus truth issue going here - it parallel, in a smaller way, the CFR debate. I am happy to see that the White House is being Freeped on CFR. I wondered what would happen if the President went for something that was contrary to the principles of our Constitution and our liberties as a Constitutional Republic.

After all, our liberties are worth discussion and disagreement.

Does any critique of the Savage Nation fit within this framework of FreeRepublic principles?
