How many hunters here on Free Republic do you know that have killed endangered species? How many hunters here on Free Republic do you know that go out hunting (or shooting) when drunk? How many poachers do you know here on Free Republic?

I really doubt we'll get any volunteers for honest answers from the people who have. How many people here have known someone who has killed for thrill or boredom and have drank or killed an endangered species? I doubt anyone will answer that either.

I think the top photo of the Winchester Model 70 Classic Featherweight XTR is just about the prettiest rifle ever made. I got one like it for my son when he was 13 and 12 years later he still has it and swears he will never part with his Winchester. And by the way, there was a lot of good times hunting with him over the years too.

Specifically I was thinking of that special Japanese veal where the calf is suspended in a sling and its feet never touch the ground. It is fattened and killed and extremely tender and I cannot recall the name of the dish.

Sounds like Kobe beef (or maybe Wagyu beef) to me. If cooked right, it makes USDA Prime taste like shoe leather. The calves are massaged with sake and fed beer every day.

Kobe goes for 100-300 bucks a pound in Japan if its the real thing (and there are restauranteurs who have been known to substitute a more plebeian cut).
