I understand that position. I just don't understand why you would try to influence (or even care about) that which you've decided not to influence. If you feel the President is "blowing it" then you ought to be celebrating as it will make way for your guy to win next time.

Also the use of the military to SHUT DOWN the borders to freelance crossers (those who do not have verified commercial business, etc.), throwing out the bums who haven't a documented constructive purpose (hello, worthless INS, at least try on this one...?), and SHUT DOWN any gov't. licensing department who, like the drivers' licensing dept. in Tennessee until they are able to provide some accountability for the people they issue a license to.

There is definitely going to be another terrorist attack against America and the only way we are going to be able to stop it is if we stop acting stupid and start directing assetts against the threat.

BUT what Ann is missing is that Bush does not want to ignore others who may be a risk, and that would end racial profiling; do them right, and there's no need to profile.
