Simon gets $78 million worth of good news . . .
BILL Simon's campaign to unseat Gov. Gray Davis received some very good news Thursday. Will the campaign staff know how to handle this turn of events?
A judge in Los Angeles County Superior Court threw out a $78 million civil fraud verdict that a jury had levied against Simon's family investment firm. The reversal of the verdict was also a reversal in the general run of news for the Simon campaign, which has been struggling to find its footing.

I'm afraid this is a day late and a dollar short. Unless Simon is prepared to spend about a cool million most people will remember the Davis attack add calling him a fraud.
Pitty Simon played Defense all summer.

Simon can afford to dig into his own pockets now.. Altho Mr. and Mrs. Bush and Dick Cheney will help out considerably when they visit again for some more fundraisers.
GraYouT has got to be beside himself about now. And Parsky .. LOL

I agree,Bill Simon must dig into his own "Personal Savings Account" and go on the attack NOW!There are so many other issues other than the gay issue.(I mean how many of them are there 'that would vote'anyway? The # can't be that large.)Remind Californians just how "Red" Davis has destroyed the Economy, and raised our Electric Bills for starters! He needs to go on the offensive,Pronto!!!

Pitty Simon played Defense all summer. And yet he's tied in the polls before this ruling was overturned, giving him lots of free, positive publicity. I really don't think Simon is the one you should be pitying in this race.

Would that be the budget that will have citizens paying for years and is just months away from being totally shredded anyway?

Simon needs to paint Davis as going off half cocked and jumping to conclusions before the facts were in. He can then expand this theme to the energy and budget crisis.
Thus he will paint Davis as someone who does not understand the issues, jumps to conclusions, makes bad decisions, fights dirty and does not understand the law - all with one ad.
True, it will take a lot of work and a lot of ads, but Simon now has a chance to capitlize on the the Davis negative add campain.

I notice the judges decision did make the front page of the liberal rags in California. However they took a lot of space up by quating Davis saying it was a Republican appointed judge and that the jury of 12 did find Simon guilty. Obviously this is how Davis is still going to attack Simon on this. Simon must go on the attack.

Have you seen the great new ad with Bush and Guiliani plugging for Simon ? It premiered on our local news last nite here in Eureka.

Another bit of good news.
This is is typical Bravo Sierra from a left wing newspaper: He has to answer for a campaign organization that didn't seem to know where he stood on the issue of gay rights, after Simon made it a point of distinction between himself, conservative, and Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, too progressive, in the Republican primary.
This was a phoney non issue created by those against Simon. That includes phoney conservatives who work 24/7 to run Simon and other Republicans down.

I can't wait to see the new ad on TV. It is available online:
Also on the simonforgovernor.com webpage is:
Davis "Debate Dodger" Clock:
52 days and 13 hours 'til the polls open on Election Day, and Gray Davis is still refusing prime-time debates.
