I'm trying to find a list of states that have Carry Concealed Weapon laws.

A frustrated Aussie thinking of immigrating.

You might try contacting the NRA - I suspect they'd provide you with a list in a heart beat. For whatever it's worth, I know that both Alabama and Texas have "concealed weapons" laws. Good luck!

South Carolina has Conceal Carry Laws.

The problem is, that it seems each State that has Conceal Carry Laws, has its own unique plan.

A Conceal Carry Permit issued by South Carolina may not be honored by other States that have Conceal Carry Laws of their own.

There are quite a few, but tossing in business opportunities and the "great place to live" factors, I'd look very, very closely at Texas and North Carolina. I've lived in both, currently in Raleigh, NC. Come on up, mate; you'll love it.

Dundee and Don,

The variety of CWP laws prevents the feds from making them somehow illegal with a stroke of the pen. Their variety can be explored at http://www.packing.org

We activist citizens need to be familiar with the concept of a political tar-pit (teergruben in German IIRC).

The conspiracy of ignorance masquerades as common sense.

9 Kentucky yes no yes

While you are correct in saying that KY does not issue non resident permits, KY does honor other state permits that honor KY permits. KY Is a reciprocal state

Beware the difference between "shall issue" vs. "may issue". California is a "may issue' state, which means you have to have a good reason in addition to being qualified. It's very hard to get a CCW in large county or city, but many of the rural counties are pretty liberal about handing them out.

Go to www.packing.org. A database of CCW states with links to the states and lots of good legal info. I plan all my trips around states that "deny me my civil liberties".

From Florida: Don't forget states that will honor other states CCW permits...

Concealed Carry latest update is still from November 2001 You can check further with the Office of the Secretary of State ? www.dos.state.fl.us Check the web site or call 850 414-5500 for further information.

States that WILL HONOR Florida licenses:

Alabama
Mississippi
Alaska
Montana
Arkansas
New Hampshire
Georgia
North Dakota
Idaho
Pennsylvania
Indiana
Tennessee
Kentucky
Texas
Louisiana
Utah
Michigan
Wyoming
Vermont

The reciprocity is for firearms, not necessarily other weapons. It's a good idea to check with the Secretary of State of each state you intend to travel through or stay at before a trip.

Try Tennessee, NO State income tax, you have to take a 8 hour safety course, get a FBI & TBI back ground check give them $115 and you get your permit for 4 years, renewel is $50. Cost of living is decent in TN..just stay out of Memphis the crime capitol of the State.

IF you are looking at tech jobs try the Knoxville, Oak Ridge area. Climate is decent.

Study

Study ranks area among top technology clusters in Appalachia
