Richard Bey isn't qualified to operate the intercom at the drive-thru burger joint. What a tool.

It seems as if a lot of news and entertainment organizations would rather push their favorite ideologies than make money. But maybe when it gets to the point where their own salaries are threatened, they will relent. They don't seem to care much about the stockholders or the viewers, but their salaries are another matter.

I just heard it as well, but how do you know that he was axed, as opposed to him leaving? What was the catalyst?

I'd bet that he decided he didn't want to do an hour - Savage is tearing up the ratings, and they wanted Elder on... That, on top of the fact that the show gets pre-empted/shortened/cancelled every other day for sporting events- makes it possible that he quit.

I hate most of his views, but he's infinitely more listenable that the likes of Carville, et al.

Bey is a dufus.

Monica may be dopey, but at least she sounds cute when she trys to act angry with liberals.

(She may be dopey, but she's still smarter than that neanderthal Hannity.)

I agree. He certianly was more intelligent than Steve Malzberg, but he refused to use his intelligence to get outside the box of his leftism. He kept spinning everything according to a formula that quickly became stale. He really refused to think. I could no longer listen to him constantly out-manuver Malzberg with simple word games [and distortions of fact] that Malzberg was simply unable to get himself out of.

This is a good sign. WABC gets rid of the slick empty, hollow man; and tries a woman who is nice. It will remain to be seen how able she is to penetrate all the jive in political talk.

what can you really do with a 1 hour show? 25 minutes are commercials, another 10 minutes for news, traffic, weather. nothing is left.

Savage probably demanded --either directly or through his ratings-- that he get picked up for the earlier hour. Monica was good when I heard her on Bachelor and Alexander, but needed her own stage to really grow into her potential--if she can. I never heard her with Bey, but I would believe that the two of them together would not be appealing.

Bey is lazy intellectually and it would not be pretty when his tactic of blotting out the other side would be tried on a "nice" girl like Monica. She would be more able than Malzberg to deal with Bey, but I think that Bey would not stand up to a truly challenging partner. Instead, he would try his gimmicky-based positions. ---Not pretty. So, Bye-Bye.

The sleeper here is Elder. He is black, good and a strong conservative voice. He should do really well in New York. I predict he will become a star in NY.

Richard Bey belongs on Howard Stern's station. He has a weird infatuation with the Bush girls.

His political skills are weak. Steve Malzberg wipes the floor with him every time they are together.

I suppose the liberals will use this to whine about there not being a fair playing field for them.

Message to WABC. Dump Ron "The Commie" Kuby and I might stop listening to IMUS.

MONICA ROCKS !!!!!

Beauty & Brains.....lots of both.

New Jersey's own Conservababe !

She is a brilliant asset to WABC. Monica, in addition to her extraordinary knowledge and accomplishments, has a good ability to interact with callers without making them feel small or unimportant.

As for Richard Bey...I never thought I'd say it but I will miss him. He was annoying as hell sometimes and he never let you forget when he was right but he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He definately is a really intelligent fellow, I wish him well.

I only listed to Crowly-Bey combo once. Last friday they were discussing Neocons and foreign policy. Bey managed to completely screw up the neocon paleocon dispute without Monica saying a word.

Personally, I like Richard, if only to call in and disgree with him. He was better informed than Malzburg.

She was NOT in the Nixon Adminstration. She served as Nixon's aide at the end of his life. She was a doctoral student at the time. I don't know her age, but I would guess 30 +/- 2 years.

I'm glad for the hour of Elder, but they should have just did the whole Savage show. I have always wanted to listen to Larry, but couldn't find it on the net, so I guess I shouldn't b***h.

What I really want in NYC is Boortz. The problem with his show is the hours. Nobody in NY is going to air a show that starts at 8:30 AM. :(

Will Richard Bey still have his Saturday show-10AM to 1PM? I'd shut him off when he would get on his liberal soapbox but some of his stuff was funny. I like the part of his show called "Dick and Dad go to the movies". Every week he would call his dad, who lives in Florida, and discuss movies they had seen over the week. And his father is a WWII vet and a conservative!!

I think so. Had a chat with Steve soon as I heard and he tells me that Larry Elder is an ABC product while Svage is not. He thinks they are going to see how the ratings do with Larry and Elder and if he beats Savage they will replace him with Elder (more profits). Anyway, that was Steve's take on it.

At least Steve still has a job and most of his fans are in the overnight anyway. I couldn't stand Richard Bey and avoided going to the studio to visit Steve so I wouldn't have to see his ugly mug.

I agree. WABC should keep a few slots open for liberals if only for the entertainment value. I think they should give Lynn Samuels a weekend show again, that would be a funny show. I'm sure the success that we have enjoyed in the war is driving her nuts.

I thyink Bey knew this was coming however, Monica and Bey have been teamed up for weeks now since Malzberg has the graveyard shift

Yea, Bey is an obnoxious, pompous ass. I met him when I went to the Morton Downey, Jr. show at UPN-9 studios in Secaucus when Bey had his own show. Talk about a stuck-up idiot, he's not a nice person and that radio show was all an act. His Saturday show put me to sleep and that was in the morning!!

Uh no. She was not in the Nixon admin. She was probably a little girl back when Nixon was president. However, She was Nixon's personal policy assistant in the 90's, and wrote two books about him.
