Are these people who requested applications -- which was around 300, or did all these "candidates" actually paid their $3,500 and submitted their 64,000 signatures and are really running?

"Can just anybody get on that ballot? Isn't there any minimum signature requirement?" $3500.00 filing fee and 65 signatures on a nominating petition.
Michael
To: colorado tanker
I think the signature minimum is like 600, not terribly difficult to get. Plus $3500. The recall election alone might cure the state budget.

I'm not sure of the specifics; the Politics 1 site that I got this from didn't specify.

I don't recall (no pun intended) the exact breakdown but the more signatures you have, the less money you have to pay. With 64,000 signatures, I believe your filing fee would be in the low hundreds of dollars. The $3500 filing fee corresponds to a very low number of signatures.

I think it's $3500 and 65 signatures. If you can garner 10,000 signatures, the filing fee goes way down.

She better hope that uber-moron Bill Maher's registered if she wants to get a single vote beyond her own.
I GAURANTEE that the porn actress will get more votes.

I think I may have figured out what is really behind this.
Calif. needs to raise money to pay off it's debts. So far we have raised $311,500 in filing fees for governor. All we need is 100,000 people to file and pay the filing fee and we will be out of the hole.
By count we only need 99,911 more to file and we will be debt free!!
Come on folks only two days left to file!!

Mary Carey (the Porn Queen) and Angelyne will probably get more votes than some of the political pros.
A couple of wags in my office are already joking around about voting for the porno "actress" or Larry Flynt.
This has already been great, and we have'nt even seen any TV commercials yet.
