He seemed so promising, too. These were just totally avoidable mistakes. Democrats can get away with this crap, Joe Biden did, but Republicans can’t (nor should they try to). It’s gonna give Gov. Palin a bit of a black eye for endorsing him, but she can’t be held responsible for the candidate’s gaffes.

With Labrador on the Republican ticket in November, the Democrats win either way.

Oh yeah? That sounds like a load of bull to me. Gotta anything to back that up?

OMG - this link from fieldmarshaldj!

Do you think Ward was sabotaged or just stupid?

Labrador is the lawyer for the illegals, right?

Thanks and good morning to you, too.

Out of here for a while. Catch up on Ward later.

Most Conservatives around here supported Labrador. It was a blow sent to our Governor, if nothing else. Bill Sali and Otter had a long history.

It was truly amazing. These Rino's turned on Bill Sali because he based his positions on Religion, including Butch Otter. Call it dirty politics.

Labrador ( Judging by his supporters ) is the better choice. We'll see.

It's easy to see what happened in Idaho -- we're paying bigtime for these open primaries.

Rank and file Republican conservatives in Idaho overwhelmingly moved to close their primaries. 95% of the delegates to the state convention voted to do so. And they were stymied at every step by the party "leadership." So cry me a river.

Both. He must have gotten his speech writer from McCain. He still should have vetted the speech.

Labrador is the lawyer for the illegals, right?

Labrador's whole adult life has been as an anti-American pro-amnesty, open borders, immigration attorney representing illegal aliens. His support came from illegals, Democrats, and his RINO fellows in the state legislature.

Thanks. I pinged you to another thread where posters were asking questions. I linked the article about the speech that Ward gave - UGH - what a dumb-ass mistake. I can’t help but to think it was sabotage and utter stupidity on Ward’s part.

Minnick ran unopposed in his primary, and got only about 9000 votes, which means that about 20,000 or so Democrats used the Republican ballot and voted for Labrador. With most of the Democrats voting for Labrador, Ward probably couldn’t have won even without the stupid speech fiasco.

Laborador’s lead expanded with the final votes:

Those were coming mostly from Canyon County, the vast wasteland of illegal aliens.

Ward's loss was the only big disappointment of the evening.

Up in District 3, our choice for State Rep, Vito Barbierri, won in a four-way race.

Our State Senator, Mike Jorgenson, was displaced by Vick. Jorgenson had been a thorn in the side of his fellow conservatives on several issues, and had become too much of an establishment guy.

State Rep. Phil Hart, had no opposition, and is a good solid conservative.

With the Fed Gov going commie at light speed, the state and county races are even more important.

I'd bet Labrador got less than 5000 votes from actual Republicans.

Bull, you don't know what you are talking about. Labrador had much support from Republicans. Did you see the list of Republican legislators who supported him?

ALL the conservatives in government and the Republican party supported him.

That article is nothing but apologetics on the Ward-Obama plagiarism which was a crappy amateurs mistake by Ward.

It does not even seem pertinent to your “the Democrats win either way.” allegation.

Labrador is a strong conservative aside from a potential (not certain IMO) blemish on the immigration issue. Suggesting there’s no good reason to elect him over Faux-Con rat Walt Minnick is in my option, irrational.

Just yesterday, Walt Minnick voted to repeal the military’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in our Armed Forces.

And Minnick appears to be 100% pro-abortion, going so far as to vote for abortion funding in the District of Columbia, for subsidizing Planned Parenthood (the biggest abortion provider in the nation), and against the Stupak Amendment of November 2009 that prohibited abortion funding in Obamacare. He’s so pro-abortion that his supposed “fiscal conservatism” always goes out the window when the issue is whether our tax dollars should be used to pay for abortions.
