Obama's Goose is Simmering

Over the next year you are going to hear a lot of rhetoric about Obama and how no one can beat him. About how weak the Republican field of candidates are, and how they are too weak to make a difference. Obama has likely already lost in 2012. He just doesn't know it yet, and those around him are unwilling to tell him.

I am going to go out on a limb (although it is a rather large solid limb from where I am sitting), and tell you that you have little to worry about(unless John McCain gets back in and wins the nomination). What's in the pot is Obama's Presidential goose.

Here's the rationale:

The economic outlook is weakening. It is weakening rather quickly. This weakening is going to show it's ugly head in the Summer and Fall of 2012. Corporate profit growth, what I believe is the key to employment growth is weakening rather rapidly. When year over year growth rates fall below 6%, private sector employment shrinks. Corporate profits today are only slightly higher than in the third quarter of 2006. With six million fewer private sector employees working today to get to the same level of profits, there is no hope to return those jobs under the current US economic structure. The rate of profit growth needed to return all those folks to work is simply not going to happen.

First quarter corporate profits were released this week. Year over year corporate profit growth slipped from 29.16% at the end of 2010 to 21.47% at the end of first quarter 2011. At this rate, we are six months from signalling a contraction in total private sector employment four quarters down the road. The growth rate was 35.37% at the end of the third quarter of 2010. This was profit growth compared to very weak quarters from the previous years. So the easy comparisons are way over.

There is nothing on the American economic horizon that would allow us to speculate that corporate profits are poised to rebound their growth over the next six months. Companies like Lowe's and Cisco and others are already drastically lowering their outlook for the rest of 2011.

Government debt, more regulations for business, Obama's administration stepping in and stopping the free movement of corporations from one state to another to improve profitability, higher fuel costs, higher food costs, and other items are just some of the reasons I feel that fewer dollars will be flowing to the bottom line, not more.

So this is what is going to turn the heat up on Obama's goose cooking as we speak. Over the next 12 months, we will hear relentlessly about the Obama recovery. We will hear about the jobs growth we have had and the Obama administration will, of course, dismiss any ideas that it is weakening. They will say it is not where they would like it, but it is headed in the right direction. They are very wrong. By surrounding himself with people that haven't a clue on what drives the private sector economy, there is no sense of cause and effect in the White House. So there are no efforts to address the problems we face in the economy. At least not real solutions that affect the real causes.

There is nothing that this administration can do in the short term to turn this around, even if they were to understand and grasp these concepts. It takes at least a year for the changes made to start to be felt within the economy. But when you have a political party such as the democrats that attacks the very item that drives job growth, and I am talking about profits, you know they do not understand. You cannot attack profits and promote job growth at the same time. At least not in the private sector.

I predict that just at the final stages of the Presidential Election cycle kick off, the often touted Obama Recovery will gasp it's last breath. The most important thing is that Obama will own this outright. The days of blaming Bush will be over. Obama may try, but we will have become immune to it's effects. He will have taken too much credit to be successful a second time at the Blame Bush game.

The Obama administration will not be able to offer any steps, plans or promises to improve the situation. If his opponents are smart, they will use snippets of his own speeches against him. The American people, once again facing higher unemployment, will have had enough. Hope for Change will not be enough.

A word or two on the Republican candidates: Those that are dropping out of the race before it has even started likely do not understand the dynamics of profits, employment growth and the economic cycle any better than Obama. So it is good they are going. If they did understand, they would realize that the last person standing in the Republican Party will be odds on favorite by September 2012.

We are simply not going to support a sitting President in office as unemployment rises. The Obama recovery was not strong enough to erase the memories of the last downturn. For most of us, these memories are painful and fresh.

While some will be shocked at the outcome for a President that was so loved by mainstream media, you will have known that Presidential goose has been cooking for months. They will blame racism, hate, greed, and anything else than can throw.

But you and I will know better.

The goose cooking metaphor is quite fitting as Dick Obama is systematically killing our golden goose: a healthy economy.

A decent rundown on the candidates, I suppose. I am sticking w/ my tagline for the momment. I don’t think Palin can overcome the rather large negatives created by a viscious, rabid, deranged media/politico class. And I am uncertain about the nation being ready to send another Texan back to the White House. Perry is only about 50-50 in his own state, so hmmm...

I do, of course, reserve the right to alter my choices as developments unfold. Keeping an eye on Cain.

I agree. By Nov 2012 the GOP could run a corpse and win. Obama is already starting to unravel in public. His presser the other day was dare I say bizarre.

Sorry, at this point, it’s like worrying about what will happen to commism in Europe if we allow Stalin to win in Moscow. Beating Obama is the ONLY thing of importance right now. All the rest is academic.

No, you’re wrong, and very likely mistaken on a factual level about one of the most important political dynamics of our time.

It’s like worrying what will happen to liberty in America if we allow [Soros or any other of the highly influential Marxists who are ferociously active here in America] to continue to gain ground against our Constitutional liberties.

As Reagan described it, socialism is a creeping tide. Reagan is one of the few who has helped to turn it back on itself. We need someone to do the same, now.

Mitt Romney wouldn’t come close. In fact, picture Romney as a surfer, riding the tide of socialism to whatever personal gains he imagines it brings him.

And from what I can tell, Bachmann is merely the bikini clad, sunbathing babe on the beach, giggling and waving to Romney as he tries to stick his chest out while surfing by her.

Gee, I must have missed Michelle Bachmann in the bikini on the beach......Really, in a bikini giggling on the beach?? That is an unbelieveably disrespectful comment about a presidential candidate.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but you making an unreasonable, unchristian, utterly air-headed comment like that = ignore reasonisfaith. Which I shall do.

No, YOU’RE wrong and totally mistaken about the real threat of our time. Worrying about “incremental marxism” when a Hitler is at the gate is beyond absurd. It’s dangerous.

That is true...but I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope Romney isn’t the one that ends up being the one to do it.

Cain, Bachmann, Perry or Pawlenty maybe...

And IMHO, Palin isn’t running.

Obama personifies the creeping tide of socialism. I’m not convinced that you don’t understand this.

As an aside, the difference between fascism and socialism is about the same as the difference between Al Capone and Frank Lucas.

Okay, a one piece. And you’re right, she doesn’t tend to giggle. But she waves.

I understand that Obama is not "creeping" anything. He is to communism what Stalin was, as opposed to the Fabian Society in England. Them, you could deal with over time, but Stalin, like Hitler, had to be stopped immediately.

This election, not some nonsensical "creeping socialism," is the pivotal election of the last 35 years. We could live with a sex-harrasser in the White House. We could live with H.W. Bush's "new world order" and ADA. But the nation simply won't survive four more years of Obama. It's the difference between electing a Mussolini---who though a fascist and evil, was not a threat to anyone bigger than Ethiopia or Albania---and Hitler.

“He is to communism what Stalin was”

No, Obama is nothing like Stalin. He’s a covert socialist who is foolish enough to be more radical than the typical liberal president. But due to the inherent weakness of socialism compared with American liberty, he can never come out nationally and make the statement “I’m a communist and my primary goal is to turn America into a socialist nation.”

I don’t think Stalin was forced to pretend to be a tax-cutting Christian. If Stalin were in the White House he would be trying to round people up and put them into camps.

Mainstream Republican and liberal presidents set the stage for presidents like Obama, who talks like a normal American (albeit with a double tongue) because the vast majority of people are not focused deeply enough on politics to understand that Obama is a socialist.

We have every reason to believe that Romney, Pawlenty, and even Gingrich and Bachmann would compromise any of the conservative values, at any time, throughout the years of their administration if they were ever elected. It’s the compromising by weak Republicans corrupted by power that allows the creeping tide of socialism to creep on.

You're so far off it isn't funny. Whatever their faults, Romney, Pawlenty, and some of the others are so far from Obama that to even compare them makes everything you say suspect. There is nothing "covert" about Obama. He says everything he plans to do, up front. People choose not to listen---just as they did with Hitler. Stalin indeed pretended to be a "moderate," and repeatedly denied to the world that he was murdering people.

And right now, I'm not worried about "setting the stage" for anyone. I'm concerned ONLY with getting Obama off the stage while there still is a stage. And unless you get this, you're part of the problem.

Not to the world. To his own country. Obama has to pretend to Americans to be center right.

I agree that Obama's personal ideology is probably very much like Stalin's. But Stalin never had to claim he was a Christian or that he wanted to cut taxes.

"Look, I am a pro-growth, free-market guy," Barack Obama declared in a recent interview on CNBC. "I love the market."

This is Obama speaking in August of 2008. Unlike Stalin, Obama is forced to pretend.

Yes, Obama is covert. And the problem with the candidates you mention is that they are in it for themselves. This opens the door for compromise.

The reason our nation's enemies fear Sarah Palin more than the other candidates is that they know she will do what she says she will do. She alone shares this quality with Ronald Reagan. The other candidates can be swayed because they are weak. Palin has a record showing that instead of sliding into corruption, she will fight it.

You see, sounding like the best candidate for president and actually having the ability to be the best president are two very different things.

Pawlenty knows what to say to make himself sound like a conservative candidate. Romney knows what to say to sound like whatever he thinks will get him votes.

But neither of these guys, or any of the other candidates, have a record like Sarah.
