I think someone like George H. W. Bush should make a subtle public suggestion, she think about it.

What part of she said no don’t people get? Leave the poor woman alone.

Many of us see her as the best hope this country had of reversing our dire fortunes next year. Most of those who supported her still see it that way, despite her decision to step aside.

There is such a thing as the recognition of duty to country. I believe with all my heart that Palin has this in spades, and that she had firmly set her feet on the path to a run at the White House, but that something unforeseen, and too monumental to overcome, got in her way.

What that really is, we'll probably never know, but whatever it is, some still think that it's her duty to go over, under, around, or through it, to do what's right for her country.

People are going to talk about this for a long time to come. Get used to it.

True. It can be done and, yes, she can.

I think someone like George H. W. Bush should make a subtle public suggestion, she think about it.

I don't think a suggestion by GHWB would move her, but millions of heartfelt postcards, letters, and a some TV ads just may. She said herself that it would take "an earthquake" to get her to reconsider. If the race keeps going as it is, she'll probably get that earthquake.

Heck, I can only imagine what she's thinking, watching this circus. I wonder how many nights she's gone to bed thinking, "Am I truly the only one who can do this?"

Unfortunately, I’ve thought from the moment I saw Drudge’s simple banner headline: “PALIN - NO!”.

That the answer to your question was that yes, she very might be the only one here and now.

I’m doing my best to find someone who can take her place. I’d have to lean toward Cain right now.

But the answer might just be yes. She was the one. Now was her time. And yes she should be back in this.

sigh ... mnehring my thanks for saying what needed saying.

I respect Sarah's decision. I'll not beg Sarah to run.
Sarah was my first choice, and Sarah said no. I have moved on.
If someone respects someone and loves someone,
when told No, move along.

Must be an echo (in here).

Like any number of natural leaders, Palin is unique and irreplaceable. We won't find another one like her. I do hope that we stand firm enough to compel her, or one like her, to step forward before next November.

Like you, Cain is who I'm leaning toward right now.

Agree 100% with your post #29. And I will add this: I attribute her refusal to run to a lack of courage in the face of leftist death threats (and maybe some from the GOP, we don’t know). I’m not sure she is the right person for president after displaying that kind of cowardice.

Trying to Alinsky me, I see. The question is why? Palin’s not in the race, so what are you scared of?

>> “I believe Palin’s faith is probably resolute and unchanged. I respect her choices, even while I think she made the wrong one.” <<

.
Can you not see the contradictions embedded in that declaration? If the decision was guided by the Lord, as implied by the first sentence, how then can it be wrong?

I believe Palin by backing out harmed America. That probably strikes many as absurd and melodramatic, but I still believe Palin’s circumstances leading up to this election were a once in a generation pivot point, an opportunity to actually alter the course of American history.

Exactly my thought!!! Even if others think we are nuts, I always thought exactly the same way and I am like you - I am completely stunned she let us down and mainly she lets AMERICA down. She is supposed to be such a fighter and she loves America so much. I just can't get my brain around that decision.

That's why, against all odds, I still have a little hope that may be she has another plan - jump in later when the field will be clearer - or - and that's what we are trying to do - call her and see if we can change her mind. Either way I am not going with anyone else for now. We still have time. Why the rush?

Oh..and yes, Sarah not running gives a FULL victory to the evil media, the Ginnis stalker - everything. They won, we lost the evil war. That’s one of the saddest part of that story.
