Konnichi wa Monsieur,
Maybe you could explain a little more what you mean.
Thanks much.

I wish that he’d do the same class act as Perry and bow out gracefully. If he did that, I think his state supporters, when he did another run for the Senate would, at least look upon him as a favourable possibility.

Understand by yourself if you can.
What i mean is rather obvious....normally. But we will see the deeds and facts at the end of the day.

I am going to work somewhere...in France

I think ulysse is saying that Santorum doesn't have to bow out if his supporters vote strategically in this winner take all contest. Santorum doesn't gain any delegates in a winner take all that almost certainly will go to either Gingrich or Romney. I makes sense to vote for the remaining conservative who can win: Newt. If every one of his supporters goes to the polls and votes, it could easily push Gingrich over the top.

The GOP E promised him more - if he runs again anywhere for office they will make sure he wins. That’s the way it works anymore like we see from this election.

Maybe Santorum shares my opinion that Gingrich is a suspect conservative.

I think Newt should do the graceful thing and bow out so that Santorum can challenge Romney one-on-one.

The GOP would certainly not be above that, for sure. It would certainly explain why somebody, who honestly, does not have a chance at becoming the nominee, would stick around.

Typically, people who run for the nomination, who have no chance, are doing it solely to raise their profile so they can win elsewhere.

If his supporters are truly conservative, they would NEVER let mitt win FL.

How can he be suspect, when he has one of the highest lifetime conservative records?

Nobody has a perfect record.

Exactly. He can stick his conservative rhetoric up his butt, IMO. His actions are screaming he’s a fraud and will sell America for his ego. Not an ounce of patriotism in him.

When I think of Nathan Hale before being hung said “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country”. And he was only 22 years old. And Santorum wouldn’t even give up an election he wasn’t going to win anyway.

LOL! Like Newt is the new kid in town! He carries the Reagan torch GIVEN to him by Reagan.

Santorum, at this point, is beyond being 'suspect'!

I don't trust Newt or Mitt. Both are opportunists who will be whatever they need to be to get elected. Newt jumped into the progressive deep end in the 00's after he left office and Mitt never was a conservative.

Both Newt and Mitt are egomaniacs and the only reason both of them are "conservative" today is because they want to get elected.

Are you from NE Pa, by any chance? I’m from Scranton. In any case, I agree with your remarks. My old work friend and I used to complain about Newt as Speaker virtually every day. He was always making some deal with Clinton and “moderate” Republicans. I wish that I liked the guy, I really do. Bob

Newt jumped into the progressive deep end...

Newt wants to repeal Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley. He also wants to repeal Obamacare and he wants to repeal all 3 on day 1 (with the help of Republican majorities in the House and Senate). He is also a proponent of supply-side economics. That's conservative enough for me.

Santorum is burning his future Conservative political bridges with blazing speed.. I’ll never vote for the man.

if he was such a great nominee he would be where Newt is right now and we would ALL be calling for Newt to drop out and endorse.. and he would have done it long ago... only one man running has a record of putting his hard earned political power aside for the good of the party.. it ain’t lil Ricky Specterum

The time for that would have been no later than Friday. He has missed the window for “class act”.

I'm from Forest City, about 20 miles from you.

Newt had his moments in the 90s but he really changed after he left office.

That said I'll vote for whoever is the nominee. I just wish Rs would wise up and nominate a real conservative for a change.

Oh come on!! You really believe him? Look what happened when he became Speaker of the House. Prior to that election he made his infamous Contract with America. He said that if he was Speaker, there would be 10 items that would be voted on in the House.

Well, were they voted on? What a fraud.

...actually, yes, they were voted on. I think they all even passed. Maybe when Newt makes a promise, he intends to keep it.
