Barack Obama boosted by skewed NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll
The Examiner ^ | September 18, 2012 | Dean Chambers

While the new Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll released today shows a two point Mitt Romney lead in the presidential race, the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released today shows President Obama leading by five percent, 50 percent to 45 percent. This survey of 736 likely voters, with a margin of error of 3.6 percent, was conducted between September 12-16. Unskewed, the data for this polls shows Romney leading seven points, 51 percent to 44 percent.

The sample included 32 percent Democrats, 38 percent independents and 25 percent Republicans. This poll clearly under-sample Republican voters. This data clearly differs with the Rasmussen Reports partisan data measured from hundreds of thousands of voters by Rasmussen Reports, which measures the partisan percentages at 37.6 percent Republicans, 33.3 percent Democrats and 29.2 percent independents. The difference means the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll over-sampled Democratic voters by seven percent more than Republicans and a 11 percent more than the four percent Republican edge shown by the Rasmussen data.

While the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll did not disclose the cross-tabs for presidential preference among Republicans, Democrats and independents, that information was calculated by extrapolation....

The skewed polls will shortly become skewered polls.

I’ve not seen such blatant partisanship in the “objective” media in my lifetime- shades of early americana...

Why is the Wall Street Journal even involved with these clowns. NBC has long jumped the shark and is not a serious news organization but an extension of the dimoKKKRAT party.

You don't have to donate money to the Romney campaign to make a difference. (You should donate money to FreeRepublic.)

Help Romney Beat Obama Without Donating Money.

I've made 1800 phone calls from home to New Hampshire in the last seven days using the system set up by the campaign. Even 100 calls will make a difference. Who will join me?

This is like when the Monica Lewinsky thing was going on, and the subsequent impeachment trial of Slick Willy Clinton. Remember?

They had three or four polls every single day, all saying exactly the same thing: Clinton was super popular, and the Monica matter was making him more popular, and the impeachment hearings were killing the Republicans, and they were making Clinton even more popular than the Monica thing was.

Poll after poll after poll, every day... According to the polls, Clinton's popularity kept going higher and higher.

They are going to keep it up with these polls showing Obama is ahead right up 'till election day. No matter what happens internationally, no matter what happens domestically, no matter what happens in the debates, you can count on this: every day, we'll get three, four, five, six separate polls, and every one will say that Obama is beating the pants off Romney.

Truth is the first casualty of war, and we're in a war.

Thanks for posting this analysis. The MSM (Mendacious State Media) is torturing the polls to fabricate false results. This is outright propaganda.

You know, I do not believe that the media can be described as liberal any longer.

They are not biased either.

They are not partisan.

They are HOSTILE.

Speaking of which, have you noticed that she’s back in the news again shopping a tell all book about slick Willie. This could be good...

Perverted polls like these could work against the community organizer. A lot of Democrats might “assume” it is in the bag and not bother to vote. Add that to many of them having some level of “buyers remorse”, they are not that excited about politics this year. Republicans and Conservatives can’t wait to get the polls and get others to the polls to throw that lying incompetent socialist out of office.

I predict a major GOP landslide with some real electoral college surprises.

Not sure who/what to believe at this point. One thing for sure, this might end up being a major surprise to the powers that be. I eagerly await the results.

Just as long as it is not like 2000. I don’t think I could stand months of litigation to decide the election.

This is all assuming the partisan data is correct.

What if Ras is wrong in his party ID data?

I do believe he is closest. But, I do doubt we are up by 4 in ID. Probably closer to just plus 1.

Now, even then it still would mean a slight Romney lead, but not as big as resampling this poll would indicate.

Let’s not get overconfident. Get every voter to the polls we can.

“I’ve not seen such blatant partisanship in the “objective” media in my lifetime- shades of early americana...”

You know, this may actually end up backfiring on them. While the purpose of these biased polls is to depress us right wingers, what it may end up doing is depress their votes.

They may get so cocky on the left that many may feel that they don’t have to bother to vote.

The WSJ is very accurate in its coverage of business. The WSJ's editorial page is a true editorial page that gives a good analysis by both the left and right but is definitely right leaning.

The Wall Street Journals coverage of the "day to day news" is no different than the New York Times and is very left leaning.

By their nature nature, the entitlement voters are lazy and these phony polls will backfire. They will also cut donations. "My guy is way ahead so I don't need to donate..."
