Conservatives that can't vote for Romney VANITY

Posted on 11/02/2012 11:06:00 AM PDT by birdsman

I know that some freepers are reluctant to vote for Romney because he's not conservative enough. Few of us wanted him to be the Republican nominee, and for good reason. This is why I'm voting Libertarian this year. I know the mantra, a vote for Gary Johnson is a vote for Obama, but that's not true in deep blue states like mine (New York). I propose that conservatives in deep blue states agree to vote 3rd party. In return, conservatives in toss up states can hold their noses while voting for Romney.

Gary Johnson is an open borders/free trader and Virgil Goode was a Democrat. They both have warts as large as Romney’s.

I voted early for Goode (Constitution Party). Just changed my tagline to indicate that.

Facilitating an Obama victory by denying his only viable opponent a vote is tantamount to deliberately supporting the "greater evil" over the "lesser evil".

How is it "goode" to assist in the triumph of the "greater evil"? How is it logical?

Any so called conservative that refuses to vote for Romney, after what happened in Libya, is someone I will never forgive. If Obama wins, they will be responsible for anything he does to this country.

Romney was not my first, or even second choice, but I don’t believe he would have sat around and let these people die.

The last poll I saw here in NM Johnson was pulling 6% of the vote. I would love to see Romney win here but it is not looking good but anything can happen.

I think Johnson will hurt zero in Colorado. The state has the legalization of pot on the ballot so he should get the stoner vote and that hurts zero.

Vote for Obama then. I'm fed up with people who are too damn holier-than-thou to vote for Romney. It may suck but there is no alternative short of total marxism with "more flexibility" than ever before!

You clearly don't like mormons, but do you like phaux-christian semi-muslim marxist atheist MORONS any better? Such as Obama?

Vote and vote Romney/Ryan. Remember, they can’t cheat if we win big.

Not only that but a major landslide against the marxists/one world order types will let them know that a large majority of Americans have no interest in their utopian fantasies.

THIS is not the PRIMARY.....vote for Libertarian in the General is a VOTE FOR OBAMA...whether you like it or not....that’s the result. WORK within the GOP to CHANGE them...that’s what hundreds of thousands of us are doing....not going to shoot ourselves in the foot just because we don’t have the “PERFECT” candidate.

This sounds good on the surface, but NO, DON'T DO IT!!! Don't go 3rd party, even in a solid Dem state.

Here's why: For Romney to score a clean win, he's got to win both the Electoral College AND the popular vote.

Now suppose Romney wins the EC, but loses the popular vote by a sliver, say 50,000 votes. Sure, he'd be president, but he'd be dogged by the popular vote loss. It would be a stone around his neck that he just doesn't need.

Beyond that, there would probably be riots over the popular vote winner (Obama in this scenario) being “denied” his victory.

AND, furthermore, I’m in a so called “BLUE” state that is starting to lean RED....nothing is guaranteed this time around.

If Obama wins, they will be responsible for anything he does to this country.

I feel that way about anybody (especially Republicans) who voted for him in 2008. I can’t believe people would buy into his BS and it is not the media’s fault for not vetting him in 2008 and again in 2012. It was plain to anybody who just spent a little time doing some research who this Marxist was and is. I could tolerate these people’s votes for zero the first but I really had a hard time with it since then. I would rather not know how they voted just make it right this time.

I have faith that Romney will do what he says and reverse the last 4 years and that is all you really have with any challenger.

He wasn’t my first choice either. If I am nervous at all it is the prospect of another 4 years of zero.

What you are doing with this incessant nonsense about a vote for not-romney is a vote for 'bama is you are convincing people to not vote at all ~ ever!

As long as they don't vote for 'bama then 'bama doesn't get a vote.

There are plenty of people elsewhere on the ballot deserving of Conservative or LIbertarian or Vegan votes ~ let these people vote for them! Else, next time you need a vote somewhere, or imagine you do, they won't be there for you at all.

You sure got that backwards. The stoners will vote for the Democrats before they'll vote for any Republican ~ ever!

Just what were you smoking that made you imagine stoners vote Republican? ROTFLMAO!!!

Gary Johnson openly supports the legalization of pot. Johnson left the Republican party for the Libertarian party so that might be part of the deal. I am not smoking anything. The last picture I have seen of this cat showed him in a tee shirt with the stupid peace symbol on it. Of course he was wearing a blazer.

So do hispanic voters ~ they know the Democrats will someday deliver the goods. The ‘lawn order’ Republicans won’t.

Those who bitch and moan and no effort to hold their elective representatives accountable have no one else to blame. Laugh if you want. But I think that people are finally ready (at least a good majority of them) to act like grown ups and take their country back.
