Chris Christie Unveils Sweeping Gun Control Plans
New Jersey 101.5 ^ | April 19, 2013 | Kevin McArdle

Gov. Chris Christie unveiled gun control and violence prevention measures that are as comprehensive as they are ambitious.

Christie acknowledges there is no way to prevent all violence in our society, but he says it is the job of government to question, to scrutinize and to demand more in an attempt to address the problem.

The plan calls for expanding New Jersey’s already strict gun control laws, expanding government-funded mental health treatment, making it more difficult for kids buy or rent violent video games, requiring that would-be gun owners show government-issued IDs and bolstering penalties for gun-related crimes.

“It’s hard for me to sit here today and say, ‘If all these things got imposed we’d see an ‘X’ percentage drop in gin violence in this state.’ I don’t know,” said Christie. “Bad people are going to do bad things and so, would greater penalties deter people? You hope they do.”(continued)

No chance of a Republican Presidential bid for him now.

Actually he's going to end up in "no man's land" if he switches to democrat. They make fat jokes about him all the time. Almost as much as republicans do.

I don't think America will elect a morbidly obese guy, regardless of party.

Yep, this guy really wants to run as a republican for president.

Why would he want to lose as a Republican when he can win as a Democrat? I'm thinking either Rubio-Christie or Christie-Rubio.

Christie said: “requiring that would-be gun owners show government-issued IDs “

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS HE GOING WITH THE “GOVERNMENT-ISSUED ID’S”????????????????

This bad impression of a literate Tony Soprano needs to be voted out of office!!

It is hard for me to say that Christie has read the newspapers for the last few days.

Simply unbelievable!

Christie is a prime example of how the Republican Party is becoming more inclusive. Maybe one day conservatives will be allowed in the party.

Can those profiles of the shooters be verified by a reliable news source? I plan to use them if true.

The article below was written by a leftist who tried to debunk the image.

It sounds like for a “far right winger” to even suggest that there might be even a remote possibility that any of the shooters were democrats - well, it is enough to put their panties in a huge wad because it is quite obvious that only right-wingers could commit such heinous acts.

My opinion is if they be causing the bleeding then with it we should be leading.

Let them be forced to check their own records.

When James Holmes shot up those people in Aurora, CO the very first thing we heard from the left was that “James Holmes” was a member of the local Aurora TEA Party. Come to find out they had the wrong James Holmes. On top of that the shooter was an Obama campaign worker.

Next time there is a mass shooting maybe they better check with the local democratic party registers before they start shouting “right-wing, Tea Partier!”

http://www.examiner.com/article/the-idea-that-recent-mass-shooters-are-mostly-registered-democrats-is-a-myth

More importantly, how does Ann Coulter feel about this latest action by the corpulent Governor?

I’m sure she will be along anytime now to explain how he’s really a conservative, again.
