Ted Cruz knows exactly what he's doing (Über Hurl Warning)

We had a process. Congress proposed, and the president disposed with his signature. A law then went on the books. Courts might be asked to test its constitutionality, but by surviving legal challenges, a measure became the settled law of the land, which was the case with Obamacare. The American legislative system was, in spite of the disturbing influence of big money, actually quite elegant. But now it is broken.

We have entered into an era of gunpoint government.

Americans have discovered that a tiny, radical minority can immobilize their entire country and hold it as still as a robbery victim staring at the barrel of a pointed gun. And regardless of how this might anger the majority, they must live with the fact that it can happen again.

And it likely will....

Check out this comment:

Sen. Cruz 's scheme and co conspirators ' Tea party faction should have known better ! The Government shut down with threats of de-funding Affordable Healthcare Act . delaying and CR on 2014 budget and debt ceiling , has no majority support in both chambers of Congress , popular at large with people , and this would fail . The Constitution does not allow a majority of the House to repeal the Law , and de-fund it . If that were the case, no law is safe . A majority of the House could get rid of unemployment insurance, federal aid to education , Social Security, Medicare, or any other laws . The GOP particularly Tea party faction in Congress are out of touch with ground realities, faced by millions of poor and needy folks , dependent on Government services . These folks suffered immensely ! Either those who supported Cruz venture are naive or have no compassion for people across the U. S . Sen. Cruz 's speech on Senate bill ending 16 days of Government shutdown and temporary debt ceiling increase , was an outburst in anger and attacking in frustration on GOP in Congress and President . Also an unprecedented violation of Senate 's SOP and traditions . The irresponsible 16 days long Government shutdown 's impact on crippling of economy , and adversity on millions of families by GOP enthusiasts , would face huge punishment a polls in 2014 midterm elections and beyond .

A law then went on the books. Courts might be asked to test its constitutionality, but by surviving legal challenges, a measure became the settled law of the land

The following were also "the law of the land" too, but no more, in some places in America:

1) DOMA

2) The border fence

3) The "bear arms" clause of the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.

From the lawless liberals, this "law of the land" argument moves me not one nanometer. It is mere hot air.

Aug 4, 2008

(CNN) — Four years ago, author James Moore released his latest book critical of President Bush.

“Bush’s War for Re-election” was released in fall 2004 and raised questions about the president’s service in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. The issue of Bush’s service became a campaign issue during the 2004 presidential election.

Months later, on his first airline flight since the election, James Moore was told by the airline he was flying that his name matched a name on the government’s terrorist watch list.

by surviving legal challenges, a measure became the settled law of the land, which was the case with Obamacare

ObamaCare survived one legal challenge. Lets see how it does against a continuing onslaught of challenges. We need to treat ObamaCare the way the socialists treated Governor Palin - a flood of legal challenges based on anything we can find or on nothing when simple harassment is the best we have. We need to make sure people have no faith in ObamaCare's legitimacy or in the possibility that it will be there when they need it. This is "settled law" just like Prohibition, DOMA, Dred Scott, DADT, and our first round of slavery in this country.

The original battle against slavery lasted more than 80 years before freedom won. I pray our battle against socialized medicine will not last as long. We cannot reimpose slavery in America, nor can we systematically trample the Bill of Rights. I won't live to fight this law for 80 years, if the battle takes that long, but I will fight that evil law as long as I live. Unlike the far left fringe that merely promises to "end" a war, our moral obligation is to win the war for freedom.

Ted Cruz fought the good fight and he could have won if the RINO’s had stopped stabbing him in the back.’ John McCain is as responsible as anyone for the loss.

They should have left him in the Hanoi Hilton.

wow, 3800 comments. CAT FIGHT!

“Americans have discovered that a tiny, radical minority can immobilize their entire country and hold it as still as a robbery victim staring at the barrel of a pointed gun.”

It never ceases to amaze me when libs blame us for doing exactly what they do. They are holding the dimwits hostage with syringes and windmills.

Do not mention Obama and Cruz in the same breath. Cruz is a sociopath, Obama is a statesman.
